What's the best way to describe EagleVail Golf Club? A river golf course? A mountain golf course? Actually, it's a little bit of both. It's also a pretty golf course ... and pretty tough. The 18-hole Bruce Devlin and Roger von Hagge design, which opened in 1974, isn't a long golf course by today's standards, but there isn't a lot of room for error. The only true mountain design for a public golf course in the Vail Valley places a high priority on shot placement, and you should as well if you want to have a good score. The tee shot at the par-5 first hole is elevated about 75 feet, there's the red barn at No. 2 (part of the area's agricultural heritage) and there are plenty of elevation changes and breathtaking views as you make your way around. But no matter what you call EagleVail Golf Club, chances are you'll be calling for another tee time once you've played there.

Beginner Eagle Vail
Great course, tough for beginners, very interesting glamour with several very elevated tees.
Good conditions
Back 9 little more difficult. Great Thick grass!
Sand was ok, not great. Good value!
Round at Eagle Vail
Fun course to play with good variety. Some of the bunkers need more sand. They’re like mud pits - almost unplayable.
Plays like a mountain course
Great fun. Lots of interesting holes. Most of the time you have to find trouble. Tee boxes a little beat up, but the greens, for the most part, were in good shape. Sand is very thin in the bunkers. Good luck getting out.
The starter and cart girl are wonderful.
Never Disappoints
We play here a few times every summer and it's always a family favorite. Great layout, beautiful views and fun for all levels of players
Awesome Course Beautiful view
Loved the course. Have played it twice. Unfortunately both times I was with a "local" person that was very rude. The outstanding course allowed me just to ignore them and enjoy the courses. Has both a traditional mountain and valley course. Enjoyed both!! Highly recommend.
Fun course with amazing views
The course is pristine and well-kept. The elevations and scenery is unimaginable. The 18th hole tees up at an elevation of 7800 feet. I played OK, some very challenging holes but I felt like I was in a PGA tournament striking the ball of the tee and watching it sail 300yds was very gratifying. Played with two other gentleman and my wife. This course is one of the reasons I leave Florida and head to Vail!
Only played 11
Booked the tee time and it did not alert me to the fact that I was only going to be able to play 11 holes
Not happy about that
Challenging tee shots
Great course. Have to find right spots on fairways and greens. Different layouts allow you to utilize different clubs and shots off tee box. A few elevated tee boxes provide great views.
