Plum Creek Golf & Country Club
About
Legendary golf architects Pete Dye and Perry Dye designed the 18-hole, private course at Plum Creek Golf and Country Club, located in Castle Rock. Opened in 1984, the golf course features 7,044 yards of golf from its championship tees, playing to a par of 72. Dye included various different challenges in this golf course, causing some locals to say that it possesses some of the most difficult holes in the state. The hilly terrain of the well-bunkered course causes many uneven lies. Water hazards also come into play on some holes. Plum Creek Golf and Country Club boasts beautiful views of Castle Rock and the Rockies.

Good Course - Needs some work
I really enjoy playing this course. Challenging but fair. I am an average golfer so I like the challenge without the feeling that I could never make a birdie. The grounds do need some attention and repair. Cement cracking on cart paths, some ground in poor shape & clubhouse is looking a bit run down. I don't like the fact that you can't take the cart on 8 of the 18 fairways (4 par 3's and 4 additional holes). If I wanted to walk, I'd walk. Overall, when you can get a good deal on Golf Now, take it. Otherwise I think $75 on weekends is a bit steep for this course.
rough condition and overpriced
The course has an interesting layout but it was in rough condition and overpriced for the value
Play here regularly
Fun track, could be in a little better condition but a real deal for the money.
Not for the faint of heart
You don't have to look for trouble, it will find you. While the course is difficult, especially when you have not played it, it is fair. Players should not over estimate their ability when making their tee selection; it could make the difference between a great golf day and a miserable one.
Love this course!
The newer owners of this course have done a great job turning the condition of this course around. Have played it a few times this year and will continue to play it as it is a great course and a great value for the $
Good course, good location, easy to get a tee time
Plum is a good place that has a bit of challenge but not hard to find, get to fast and gte out fast for a price that GolfNow makes good.
Pete Dye in CO
Plum Creek is a pretty typical Pete Dye layout that has grown in over the years. The required shot selection is diverse and the routing through the rolling hills inviting. Other than the clubhouse showing some age a round a Plum Creek is worth the trip.
Rude people in shop, and rude people on coarse.
This place is a joke. Don't waste your money playing this coarse. Pro shop employees think that they work at a TCP coarse. Coarse not in good shape. Hit my ball, rolled across the cart path and ended up in open grass. Lady came out and told me, if I where to walk the 2 feet into the grass to get my ball she would call the cops. I've been playing for 20 years now, I have never had this happen before. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! OR YOUR MONEY!!!
Difficult But Enjoyable Course
This course was designed by Pete Dye - a well known PGA course designer. It is not your typical course where you hit a driver off the tee, iron or wedge onto green and putt. The course is full of decisions you have to make. Should I play it safe with a 4 iron or go for it with the driver. Should I try to hit it over the water and try to cut off the fairway, or just aim for the safe landing and layup. Every hole is like this. It makes for an interesting round and keeps you coming back. I've played the course multiple times, and it is like a new course everytime. You can make a totally different set of decisions and change your experience.
The course also features some unique hazards, such as deep Scotland-like bunkers, tall native grass, and some holes where water borders the entire length of the hole (not just a small pond you have to avoid like most courses).
I would definitely recommend this course to a friend, and will be playing it again.
Classic Pete Dye, loves the ties;
Nice course, was well maintained. Fun hole in one competition.
