Fun Course just off I-76
My girlfriend and I took a 90 minute drive out to Fort Morgan to play Quail Dunes, a course I've not played since high school (85). The course has two distinct nine's. a parkland style front nine and a more wide open back nine. Quail Dunes is in great shape, the rough is thick but playable and the greens are a little fuzzy (which I understand as if you cut the greens to low they might brown out in the heat of summer). Oh, and another awesome thing about the greens. Since you're not allowed to touch the flag stick Quail Dunes uses the Golf Ball E Z Lyft system. It's the best covid-19 putting system out there and I wish more courses used it instead of pool foam or an inverted cup. With the E Z Lyft the ball falls to the bottom then you wimply use the putter to lift up the handle and the ball comes out. Quail Dunes is worth the drive out to Fort Morgan!!
A nice course!
Had a very good time, finished early and played another 18. Great staff, nice course.
Over all fun to play. Played during shut down so somethings were not open.
Greens needed a little work. Had not been groomed.
I will play the course again this summer.
Staff is great!
It’s a long drive from metro Denver but worth it to me. Very friendly staff, relatively good course conditions, and great value.
I keep coming back
Great course I've played here 5 times this summer (2019) and I live like an hour and a half away. It's more than the great price this place is just nice never crowded like all the courses in town.
Greens are burned up
The greens are in bad shape, looks like they have a fungus of some kind. The fairways are good not sure what the problem is with the greens. Not worth playing in my opinion.
Worth the drive
I love this place. Sure its 65 miles from where I live but I keep coming out. The greens are not the greatest but that's really my only complaint.
Greens need a few weeks
Quail Dunes is a fun course and well worth the drive from Denver. But be aware that as of June 2 the greens have not recovered from a rough winter.
I highly recommend a call to the pro shop to check conditions
Good track
Very nice local course to play. Dnjoyed it very much
Excellent Course For All Levels
The terrain and challenge of the course are fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. The views are great. Enjoy playing this course for 9 or 18.
Need more club....on the greens!
Greens had not been mowed and were the slowest I've seen in my life. Given the time of year I'll cut them a little slack for the conditions of the faurways.
First time at QD
A decent old layout not too far from I-76. Paid $25 with a cart which is hard to beat. No bunkers, which was interesting....Only complaint is there isn't much room between greens and tee boxes which I guess is how old courses used to be...built for walking. It was just hard to take really aggressive lines if there was a group in front of you and not worry too much about hitting them.
Quail Dunes
I have played Quail Dunes several times. I like the course. Very few level holes. Greens are in very good condition. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I look forward to playing it again soon.
Good Rate Golf
We purchased a round of golf on the Golf Now app. We would go again with a discounted rate but would not return if we had to pay their regular prices.
Nice, quick, convenient field trip from Den
We took a field trip from the front range due to forecasted rain midday on a Thursday. Easy access, pace of play was outstanding, the gentleman in the pro shop was kind and accommodating and the course was in great shape. Would love to go back.
Quail Dunes Makes a Good Golf Stop When Traveling
A nice course for both myself and my husband. Tom is a good player, I am an enthusiastic but poor player. The course is not difficult, but there is a great deal of high brush in the rough and between you and the green on some holes. I lost balls in all of those. If you play this course and find a pink Wilson--you are welcome.
If I lived in the area (we are passing through in our motor home) I would play here regularly.
It was an enjoyable day of golf. We stopped at the clubhouse for lunch and had a very good burger.
