Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Blue Course
About
The Blue Course is one of four public courses offered at the Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills. Located in the city of Westminster, the Blue Course is a nine-hole, par-36 course that offers over 3,200 yards of golf. The nine holes of the course originally served as the front nine for another course on the premises, the Gold Course. Now, it stands alone as a regulation length nine-hole course and the Gold Course is a separate 18-hole course at the facility. Hyland Hills offers picturesque mountain views as well as finely manicured courses. Golf Digest even rated Hyland Hills' courses as part of Colorado's top 20 golf courses.

Cart Paths Are Grueling and Tee Spacing is Silly
We play here often and often do not leave a review. But, yesterday, the lack of attention to the cart paths prompted me to leave a review. The first hole on the Blue course has the path bloked off because the path and grass are so bad. The alternate path to the side is also terrible. Just give up on growing grass and make a gravel path, please. Some new cart paths have been put on the Blue Course and are appreciated.
The tee spacing pn both courses is ridiculous. On some 500-yard holes the spacing of the teees is less than 10 yards. On some of the holes there is barely any difference in distance. This should be addressed before that big project going on between the first holes on the Bluye and Gold.
Lastly, this was a prepaid GolfNow booking and they tried to collect. As this has happened several time, I always now check all GolfNow bookings.
cart paths
cart paths need help. Our group thought it was like 4 wheeling.
Nice course, very relaxing
Course was well maintained, challenging and a blast. Best way to start your day
BLUE 9
Seems to be mud holes and ruts in areas of the cart paths, especially at the tee box areas. No ball washers at the tee box areas, just on the carts. A gorgeous coarse and lots of good things to say also.
Love Hyland Hills
Course is in great shape. The staff is outstanding. Friendliest staff in golf.
Best value in my area
I love this course because they offer two different 3-pars, a 9-hole and an 18-hole. Their prices are excellent and they continue to maintain and make improvements. Also, there are some fantastic views of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, still snow-capped at the end of July!
9 hole course
My wife and I play Westwoods, Indian Tree, Legacy Ridge and Hyland Hills. Women's tee box position is not equivalent to the blue tees. Distance of offset should be proportional to the hole length. On a par 5, women cannot reach id 3 shots and on some of the par 4's they cannot reach in 2. Thought should go into this position. If it was more equivalent than more women would enjoy their round with their spouse.
GPS golf cart
Frustrated with GPS golf carts. Carts stop in restricted areas that are not marked. No instructions provided regarding what to do. Carts are immobilized stopping play, which effects pace.
Had to call club house.
Better marking of restricted areas and instructions would be helpful
Talk about rough. Hyland Hills (Blue Course)
Hey I don’t claim to be a scratch golfer by any stretch of the imagination and obviously it’s advantageous to hit your tee shot into the short grass but the rough on this 9 to me seemed vastly overgrown to the point of neglect. Perhaps there’s a staffing shortage and I get that the gold course would be a higher priority but when the course which is only 9 holes looks like that I would think it would be embarrassing to the head professional down the line. I would drive from Littleton all the way up to play there because I enjoy the availability of the early tee times for 9 holes even though there are about 15 closer courses . But after this last round I think I’ll have to rethink things. Hope whatever the issue is that the blue course is able to get some TLC soon. #bluecoursesarecoursestoo
Cart paths have gotten really bad. Lots of pot holes and puddles on the paths. Dead grass on the course was disappointing. Tree maintenance is lacking with lots of dead branches on trees around the Blue course. This used to be one of the better public courses around, but it appears that the overall maintenance is beginning to lag.
