The South Par-3 Course is one of two par-3, public golf courses that Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills offers. Unlike the 7-hole North Par-3 Course, the South Par-3 has 9 holes and it is 1,060 yards from its longest tees. The course is quite challenging for a par-3. Water hazards come into play on four of the nine holes. It offers excellent practice for those wanting to improve their short game as it tests several different handicaps. Although less demanding than the 18-hole Gold Course, the South Par-3 is a great short course.

Not worth it
Pace of play was ridiculous. Par 3s should not have tee times and if they do, then there should be no hold ups. We had to wait for 3 groups every hole and left after 5 because it was already taking 1 hour. We can play the regulation course in that time. Conditions are poor and not for beginners either.
Fun course
This is a fun course for a par 3 with some variety. Unfortunately, we ended up behind a slow group, so there was some waiting.
Decent par 3
The layout is not my favorite, but I still enjoy it. The first handful of holes are all below 90 yards and really tight between the trees. They are a bit annoying to play. In the back half, the course opens up a lot and feels much better to play.
Also, it always seems to be slow here. I expect that with a par 3 course to a certain extent, but my latest trip we were waiting 15-20 minutes per hole due to a slow couple 2 groups in front of us. Not the most fun when you spend more time sitting around than golfing.
Not worth the time or money
Looks like a fun par 3 course, but it’s ridiculous that you have to make a tee time then wait 10mins on every hole. We left after playing 5 holes because it took 1 hour to get there. I’d try any of the other par 3s in the area before coming back. The conditions weren’t the best but for $11 that’s what you get I guess. I was very disappointed, and I need to mention that this is not a par 3 for beginners.
Fun Golf outing
We enjoy playing this course for several reasons. It is a great chance to practice your approach shots and short game, you can usually finish in a little over an hour, and we can usually get on even at the last minute.
Par 3 South Perfect for Family Outing
My wife and I played the course with 2 of our 3 boys (9 and 7). The boys are asking when we can go back. Great course and overall experience for the family!
Holiday Fun!
My son and I had the best holiday, celebrating the Fourth by playing an early round of golf. The course is challenging enough to keep it interesting and so much fun! We’ll be back again soon!

Well kept course that works great for improving your game

Challenging par 3. We were rained out the day before. But we were able to reschedule for first thing the next day. Friendly staff, convenient location, and fun course.
The no rules course
If you’re like me and aren’t that good and don’t like to feel bad playing with people who are, play here! The course is practically lawless (in a good way) there’s basically nowhere that carts aren’t allowed except inside the clubhouse and apparently you can bring massive groups and play together. Personally I enjoy this atmosphere sometimes and will definitely play here again. Price was extremely reasonable and the course had a few challenging holes due to the very short yardages.
DEFINITELY CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!!
I've starting getting back into golf and I love the location first of all and the staff is why I continue to come here. The course is gorgeous and well maintained. The tee boxes are identifiable and easy to navigate especially for first timers to this course. And the driving course is always open and dispenses balls for you for a small fee and boom your at a all around one stop shop place for either improving your game or wanting to try somewhere new. Happy golfing ⛳️
