The South Par-3 Course is one of two par-3, public golf courses that Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills offers. In total there are four courses, varying in length and size, at Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills. Unlike the 7-hole North Par-3 Course, the South Par-3 has 9 holes and it is 1,060 yards from its longest tees. The course is quite challenging for a par-3. Water hazards come into play on four of the nine holes. It offers excellent practice for those wanting to improve their short game as it tests several different handicaps. Although less demanding than the 18-hole Gold Course, the South Par-3 is a great short course.

Par 3 too shoet
Took my nephew to play the par three course here and tried to get onto the main course, but it was booked. It was expensive and had to wait behind golfers. That didn’t know how to golf, one cart had five people in it. The par threes were super short, and we finished the course in an hour, even though we had to wait many times on the holes. Would not recommend this, I love par three courses to practice my short game, but not this one.
Short but fun
Quick, cheap course in Westminster. Bring some balls, the first two holes are heavy on the hazards. Water jug on the 7th for refills, nice touch!
Divots Otherwise Had a good time!
Many Divots on greens were extremely present. Mitigation here would be appreciated. Not sure if anything can be done as I know client's ettiquette would dictate to fix these as course is being played. Otherwise, havent played in 15 years and the round was a great time. Was with my 85 year old grandmother. We moved a bit slow as a result but kept pace with group in front of us. Thank you to your staff.
Course Needs Some Work/Upkeep
We've played the South Par 3 many times and this is the worst I've seen the course look. I'm noticing more and more that the fairways are not groomed properly - the fairways are no shorter than the rough - this makes fairway shots far more difficult. In addition, the tee boxes were really rough.
Lastley, it would be nice if there was some sort of bathroom along the way.
Nice Layout
Nice layout for a Par 3. The t boxes needed serious maintenance and we were behind 2 young boys (14/15 years old) who did not understand pacemof play. They backed up the groups behind them and it was painful.
Not the best
It wasn't bad but it's not a par 3 I would play for more than $10 or drive any substantial distance to get to. The layout is alright, but the distances are very repetitive, not much range of irons off the tee. I hit my SW on all holes but two.
Challenging course, but slow play
I took my 9-yr old grandson to play the south course. The first hole has a pond that needs a 60-yd shot to carry. Not a great hole to start with for a beginner. It took him 3 balls to make it over. The next 3 holes also had water to cross or avoid. The course is very challenging for beginner golfers. The worst part was that we had 2 slow foursomes in front of us. We started at 8:40 am and it took two hours to complete 9 holes.
Greens are getting beat~
The greens are getting pretty beat up by this time in the summer. Also, there was no water in the cooler on hole 7 - South Par 3.
Not what I expected
From the initial contact at check-in which was rude and not friendly. I.booked and paid for cart and they did not have any carts. The course was not in very good shape and was not an enjoyable round. .
It didn't suck.
1st time on this course and at this facility. Website could use more information to help people choose the right course for them. Course was a bit of a challenge to navigate the first time around if we didn't pay attention to where the group ahead of us went and very few wayfinding signs.
Once we found the tee boxes the holes were lovely, challenging for a beginner yet I was constantly afraid of hitting an apartment and breaking a window.
There were plenty of Pokemon for my kids to catch while waiting for their turn.
Not worth it
Pace of play was ridiculous. Par 3s should not have tee times and if they do, then there should be no hold ups. We had to wait for 3 groups every hole and left after 5 because it was already taking 1 hour. We can play the regulation course in that time. Conditions are poor and not for beginners either.
