Go Elsewhere 2 Play
The place needs a serious upkeep. It’s looks abandoned. Being in Avon, one would think the golf course would be appealing. It looks like an eye sore. Friendly staff. But - fix the course. Fix the dry burnt greens, fix the cart paths. Keney Golf Course in Hartford would but you’re course to shame.

Don’t got the Blues
I’ve played here in the past. Was the first time in maybe 4-5 years. Good course layout, but the fairways weren’t mowed and they looked like they hadn’t been watered in awhile. When our 4 some got there we requested to play the “Blue” course, but were rebuffed. I was very disappointed having driven over an hour to play there, but despite that our round was enjoyable. Not sure I’ll be back anytime soon, but it wasn’t because of the staff. Most, if not all were extremely friendly. $49 for a Friday round (holiday weekend) with a cart is more than reasonable in this area.

Hi, there are a couple of suggestions I would make. There should be better signage in order to direct people to the correct first tee boxes since they are hidden. Second, the greens should be in better shape. On every hole just about there multiple ball marks that need to be fixed in order to get a true putt. The grass in the fairway was a little patchy, which sometimes is a detriment when hitting an approach shot. Finally, the pace of play, especially off the first tee, because we were told that if we went off earlier than our tee time, that we should have the tee box open. There were two groups ahead of us on the tee box waiting to tee off. Thanks for the consideration!

Not the course I remember
The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Very friendly from the time we arrived until departure.
Unfortunately the condition of the tee's and fairways were not very good at all. Very brown and hard and tough to find a good lie even when in the fairway. I remember back 15-20 years ago this was a pristine course, tough, challenging and very fair, with great conditions. Used to be used as a Monday qualifier for The Travelers Championship

Condition is terrible
Condition of the course gets worse every time out. Staff is always friendly and enjoy the course layout but the poor conditions make it unenjoyable

Terrible up keep
The course was in the worst shape of any course I have played in years. The fairways are burnt out. The tee boxes are beat up. And the greens are bumpy and hard to putt on. It was a nice course years ago. It’s not worth half the price it cost now.

Where's the money going?
I realize golf is expensive, but $60 to play a course that has been left to nature to take over is not acceptable. They aren't watering the fairways, many of the greens appear to be diseased, and the tee boxes are uneven and unkept. I'll pay 60 bucks to play a nice course, but this course appears to be heading downhill real fast. I will not be back.

Don’t play here
A buddy and I decided to play here. Fist off the golf cart that I had was broke. The corse was not in good shape at all and the layout was terrible will never play here again

Ran down not kept up
Course used to be in good shape a few years back, now it’s not well kept, fairways are dried out, grass is long, lots of weeds and uncut grass in fairways. Greens are in good shape but other than that it was very disappointing and nowhere near worth what we paid.

Fast round under 3 hours
Course in better shape than last year. Tee Boxes still need som3 work, fairways in good shape, and greens ok and fast
horrible pace terrible tee boxes
this course has not been up kept used to be a top of line course not sure whats going on tee boxes were in rough shape greens were also spotty played an early morning tee time got thru the first nine fairly quick but when we went to make turn they started 6 groups of 4s in fromt of us totally killed the pace took 3 and half hrs to get thru 9 holes and for that reason i wont be back there this year real shame cause this used to be a nice well maintained course

horrible pace
played 18 and when making the turn there 4 groups of four starting off the back completely killing the pace of our play took us 3hrs to get thru just the back unexceptable to say the least especially since we had a very early tee time left bad taste in my mouth and probably wont go back there for a while the course was in ok shape all tee boxes were in terrible condition some greens need alot of love

Course is fun to play, the tee boxes and sand traps can all use some TLC however. Would come back

Course in better shape than 2019
It seems Blue fox has picked up the slack on maintaining the course. Last year was horrendous and unplayable in my eyes. This year, the grass was smoother, looked healthier, fuller, bunkers nice and clean, greens were decent shape.
Much enjoyable round and the weather was outstanding!

Conditions (1.5)
The course is in bad shape. Tee boxes are a mess, fairways and rough areas are in shambles. They are really letting this place go. Greens are playable, but inconsistent, slow, and damaged in some spots.
Layout (3)
The three 9s are very interconnected. For a golfer new to the course it would become very confusing in spots. Poor to no signage.
Design (5)
If the course was in better shape, it would be fine. The design on some holes is actually varied as you get towards the back end of the blue 9. Some water in play as well, which is always a nice touch for CT golf. That being said, the design here doesn’t matter much, because the conditions don’t really allow you to focus on the course or architecture.
Amenities (4)
Good size putting green and good location. They have a range that doesn’t get much use and is an eyesore. Club house is just a subpar public golf clubhouse. Nothing to write home about here.
Feel (2)
It was hard to feel like you were playing golf. It felt more like an extended range session. Pace was good so was not held up. Other than that, I would not recommend to many golfers.

Hi, we are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. Our goal is to keep the pace of play running smoothly and to never have it too backed up. As far as the raincheck goes, sounds like you prepaid for a Hot Deal on GolfNow. When this is the case, no money is paid to the pro-shop so there is no money that is owed back from the course. You may have booked other course times through GolfNow and that is why you were able to obtain a raincheck. If you call GolfNow, they would be happy to rectify the situation. We hope this clears any confusion up and we hope you give us another try in the future.
