3rd, par-4, 374 (blues): The fairway plays a bit uphill to this well guarded green. Water, hidden from view here, is to the left. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

4th, par-4, 435: Outstanding Al Zikorus-designed hole, featuring a rolling fairway and a green set upon a knoll. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

6th, par-5, 570. A long 5-par. It will be a three-shotter for almost everyone. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

7th: par-4, 370. Woodhaven is a strong test of driving. Here, the downhill tee shot is tight, the approach more routine. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022
-
8th: par-3, 180. A tough tee shot faces you on this mid-range 3-par. Long is generally not good; left is worse. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

9th, par-4, 400. The finisher favors a tee shot aimed down the left-hand side of this fairway, which tilts a bit left-to-right. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 07/29/2022

Solid course needs more staff
Everything was great except having 3 kids driving around on carts on the greens and tee boxes in front of me this also happened right next to the pro shop, seemed like the staff didn’t notice or didn’t care they were doing it.
Great course layout and bunkers were better than most of the ct ones.
Awesome
Great conditions. Greens seemed a bit inconsistent but in very good shape.
Great Course & Excellent Value
My buddy and I play here frequently. The staff is very friendly, they keep the schedule well, and the pace of play is excellent. We played in the morning and finished in just over 2 hours. The course gets it's fair share of play but it is in really nice shape with excellent greens. If you haven't played here, you are missing out on a 9-hole hidden gem.
Woodhaven neighborhood treasure
Don’t let the smaller clubhouse fool your impression of the 9 holes of 2 challenging Par5’s; undulating greens; blind hots; sloping greens that challenge the most stiffmeter ready putter; the entire property is welcoming, secluded, and overall a great value for the Walter or rider!
Plan ahead to ensure not playing behind tournaments and leagues!
Told we were too slow and when we said it is only our 5 th time golfing . He said we should not be on course . We should be practicing hitting balls .. Course marshal was rude and condescending. There was no one behind us waiting . We always let people go ahead of us rather than wait for us .. He came twice for us to speed up and split 2 and 3 instead of 3 and 2 . We had two parties and 2 tee times .. .. He stressed my husband so he didn’t even play - wasted $30 .. . . Though second court marshal who took his place was very nice and even took time to show me how to hold club ….. Told us we should take no more than 10 swings each and then move along … He was very sweet . Different approach and attitude goes a long way … Though my husband still didn’t play … This was the second time we golfed at this course and the last time ….The first court marshal yelled at us the first time also…… We have no problem at Milford Golf Course …
Dew chaser
Had the first tee time on Father’s Day. (6am)
We were there 20 mins before tee time and the staff showed up at tee time. The course is a great layout with fluffy bunkers and slippery greens.
Gotta play below the hole on half the holes because the greens are tricky to say the least.
A six ft putt can past the hole 20 ft on down hill putts. Aside from that frustration it is a hidden gem.
Hidden gem & great value!
Woodhaven is a very unassuming place, hidden in the backwoods of Bethany - with probably some of the best kept, toughest greens in CT. No issues with booking a Sunday tee-time, not crowded and no issues walking. Plenty of variety in the holes and layout, and IMO better kept greens than some high-end courses. I walked with my son, and we finished in just over 2 hours - lots of up and down, good workout.
We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the team. Thanks for visiting Woodhaven Country Club, and we hope to see you again in the future.
