Challenging and Casual
Sometimes you come to a 9 hole course not taking it very seriously and if you do that here, you’re in for a rough game.
The holes were challenging and there are some unforgiving green lies. There’s lots of thick woods and water to swallow up golf balls. Tight fairways and abundant sand traps will have you second guessing your club choices.
Gorgeous suburban Glastonbury as a backdrop to so much woods, trees, and water make spending time chasing your ball down relaxing and serene.

Accuracy needed
Challenging. Errors cost strokes on every hole. Hole one can be a birdie hole or double boggy. Hole two par or blow up disaster. Holes three four and five uses trees as the main defense. Hole six, a short par three with narrow green is guard by marsh, woods, tree roots, and rear hillside. Hole seven a par drivable par four dog leg captures balls in deep bunkers - in fair condition. The safe route leaves a two tier sloping green to add strokes. Holes eight and nine are par threes over water. The eighth has the drop zone on the island green speeding up play. Be sure to repair ball marks as the soft green will hold the ball on the green. Slope is the greens defense. Also geese poop! The ninth hole over water has a narrow green; short shots in marsh are unplayable. Go long trees guard the elevated tabletop green. Slight slope toward the pond easily misread.
Fairways mix grass with hard pan and some wet spots days after down pours. OB on holes 1,2,3 will add strokes to wild drives.

Pace of play is infuriating
I want to like this course so much and I have been several times, but always end up frustrated during my round because of the pace of play. Maybe it’s bad luck but of the 5 times I have played here, each time I get stuck behind a group who doesn’t seem to know what’s happening. I appreciate that this is more of a novice course (which is what I am) but waiting 15-20 mins every hole to tee off gets very old. The course managers need to be more mindful about the spacing of their tee times and ensuring groups are going out on schedule. The pace of play has really ruined this otherwise nice course for me.

Fun course, fairways and greens in nice green condition considering the dry conditions we have had. Tee boxes a mixed bag.

The course has a nice layout.
The grounds can do a better job with cleaning the 8th & 9th hole in regards to the bird poop. Too much it affects the the green's.
