Fairways are in horrible condition. greens and approach areas are OK.
Played here last year and recommend
Play this course last year and it was in great shape. Now the fairways are still brown. The rough is patchy and uncapped. The only thing good is piece of plate. Probably would because the course is in bad shape. $70 to play around the calf and you can’t get a decent lie.
Fairways need work
Fun course. Excellent greens, interesting layout. Only criticism is there are 3-4 fairways that are still mostly dirt and scrub grass.
May Golf Day
WOW, played there a few months and felt the course needed more time for the fairways to come in. THEY DIDNT..fairways were horrible.
Putting Greens Looked plush, BUT were VERY VERY Slow. I am not sure those fairways will ever recover. Everything else was great.
Not Sure a Good Deal
Well arrived at the course early . Ask if no one was at the tee if I could go early the person at the pro shop said no. I ask why he said because of your deal. So I hit a bucket of balls and still no body at the first tee. This is almost 45 minutes. It's sad you get a deal but felt I was looked down upon because I had not paid enough. Maybe they should not have a deal. Finally I was able to start because one person 45 minutes after I got there was alone and asked if I wanted to join. Any how it's over no huge deal . They need to lighten up...
Porky Oliver of southern Delaware
Tee box okay. Greens were nice. Fairways were trash. Great layout. Tee times 9 minutes apart- lots of waiting between shots. No ranger to guide the slowski’s. $62 on a Saturday.
Needs work
Looks like the only thing they’re taking care of right now are the greens. The fairways are still dormant Bermuda and dirt with scattered green patches. The rest of the course is a combination of grass, weeds and a whole lot of clover that hasn’t been cut in a while. Hopefully once the Bermuda starts growing in the course will get better.
Great Greens, other parts of course need work
Purest greens I played in southern Delaware this year but the course itself needs some serious TLC
No grass
I am surprised that the course is open in the condition that it is in. No fairway had any grass other than old dead patches. Should have been told conditions before paying and starting round.
Needs some TLC and time.
This course is being brought back from the dead. The greens were in great shape but the fairways were awful. Played a couple other rounds on the shore whose fairways were in much better shape. I thought the price was high for what you were playing on. Staff was extremely friendly and will give it another shot once the fairways come in and you actually hit off grass.
Grass is dead, staff are clueless
Grass is dead (they’ll tell you it’s dormant but it’ll probably still be yellow come June), and pace of play is terrible. No ranger until the back 9 after all the hackers had left. You’re better off at just about any other course in the area if you’re looking for a sub 4 1/2 hour round or to have a single good lie all day. Would not recommend until maybe late summer or if they drop prices.
Conditions
I know the fairway grass is still dormant, but there were bare dirt spots in the fairways, where grass will never grow. Leaves & pods all over greens, if you didn’t clear your path 100%, you never got a true putt. Should have someone blow them once or twice a day. Tee boxes are beat up. Played with a woman whose red tees looked like they were placed haphazardly on dirt patches. Will try again when fairways grow in
