Nice CT Muni Course
Course and greens were in excellent shape with good speed. Pace of play was good for 10am weekday tee off. Front 9 had a number of blind shots which I imagine would be better now that I know where to position the ball for the next shot. Will definitely play again, including trying the golf board cart.
Ranger
Starter very unorganized was rude as a ranger, also tried to push as many people put was rushing play and at that the course still took 5 hours. It would be enjoyable if he wasn't in charge of operation.
Much improved!
Compared to a few years ago the course is now getting excellent care, greens are now among the best around. The Rangers could do a better job with the (typical) slow afternoon play.
Always a Pleasure
Went relatively early in the season for Northeast golf. Minus the 90min delay due to morning frost on the greens, it was another pleasant experience there. The staff was nice as always. And since they felt bad about the delays, everyone that day received a free bag towel (which was a nice microfiber one), divot tool and ball marker.
Interesting track
Was a interesting track in the blind shots and unknown trouble! Greens good shape back more playable then front!
I enjoy this course!
Awhile back the course was aerated and there was a lot of dried up plugs from the aeration that had not been blown off the fairways.Other than that it was a great Day!
It was a great time to play at this beautiful course.
The course was excellent to play and view. One bad thing was so many leaves everywhere. Specially fall season, they should removed all leaves for better playing golf. Except that, the course was great and I strongly recomand to every golfers in this historic golf course.
not the most accomodating staff
Rained a lot the previous day so no carts allowed which was understandable. I had paid for a cart with my round but they made me pay $8 for a pull cart. I didnt appreciate that.
Pace of Play... Ouch
It took about 2.5 hours to play 9 holes. Course wasn't packed either. It was rough. Greens were in good shape. Rough was spotty and the fairways were OK. If the pace of play was good, I would've enjoyed the round, but waiting at least 2 or 3 minutes on every shot was not a relaxing way to spend a saturday.
Good mix of short and long holes.
The greens are very good for a public golf course.
Always a great time!
This was the second time playing Oak Hills. I enjoy the course and the peaceful wooded setting. great afternoon enjoying Nature on a great course.
Nice Course. Too Slow
Really ole the course. Plays way too slow. Many large gaps between groups. Golf takes long enough. 5 plus hour rounds are painful.
Fun layout.
Hit it straight or plan to play off of uneven lies or out of the woods. Not long but forces you to layup to avoid going through fairways. Creates longer approach shots which adds to the challenge. Many blind shots requiring commitment to club selection. Enjoy the course but wish it didn't take so long to play. Many large gaps between groups creating painfully slow play.
Solid Track
Oak Hills's first six holes aren't the best, however the rest of the design is legit and the greens are impressive for a public course.
The Oak is no Joke
I haven't played it in a couple years and back then the new greens keeper was turning it around from a dirt track. All I can say is WOW. Firm fast greens, excellent fairways, and deep thick rough. This place is up there with the best public courses in the area. They also fixed the low lying areas that used to get swampy. This is a total steal round as a hot deal!
Well maintained course
Well maintained course even in Dec. fairways were clear of leaves and greens fast.
Oak Hills Park Golf Course
Pretty decent course. They charge more than it is worth ($70 on weekends), but if you can get a good deal on Golfnow.com, then it is totally worth it. The course doesn't have an quirky holes, and the overall layout is good. The front nine is somewhat tight, while the back nine opens up a lot more.
All round good course
I really enjoyed this course. It is a fairly short course, even from the blue tees but it has a good number of dog legs and tight fairways that require some thinking off the tee. The putting greens were very well maintained and rolled quite true
If u r looking for an enjoying and relaxing round of golf, then this is it
The only downside is a lack of driving range
