nice scenic, narrow front 7 holes .better than good condition
greens in championship condition!! also the best electric carts!!
Short and tight
You won't need your driver much on this short municipal track, but the fairways are tight (opens up on the back 9) and you have to be accurate with your shot placement. All the greens were sanded heavily for end-of-season maintenance, and there was no posted warning. But we enjoyed our round because we like to play fast, and most courses in this part of the country seem to play very slowly. Lots of elevation changes, blind shots and doglegs. While visiting the area, we also played Maple Moor and Lake Isle Country Club in Westchester (NY) County.Maple Moor had the best course conditions by far and they were more accommodating to players when it comes to sanding the greens -- they announced at the beginning that two holes were being sanded for the day.
Amazing Greens
The greens were fast, pure and receptive. Couldn't ask for better greens on the golf course. That being said the fairways could use a little attention. They are redoing several tee boxes. Wish this facility had a practice range. The setup is a little short for my liking maxing out around 6500. Overall not a bad experience.
Some of the best greens I've played on all year.
Greens were smooth as silk and really ran out nicely. Because it was my first time playing here (out of towner), I played D off the tee on a few holes where it would have been advisable not to. They give you a very nice book that outlines each hole, with tips on the tee ball, but unless you can drive up and see the entire fairway it still can be inadequate, especially on the front.
All in all, though, a really good course, very well maintained. A little steep in price, though, as I missed the hot deal from Golfnow and had to settle for almost standard fees.
Good pace of play for weekend
Played mid day last Sunday and finished 18 holes in 4 hours.
it all comes down to putting, and these greens really roll out well. great greens for a muni track
played yesterday with our usual traveling foresome, great deal on GolfNow.
if your palying just for fun, i'd recomend preferred lie rules in fairways, ( some people just dont fix divots )... otherwise this course is in great shape... thx to staff
Very enjoyable round
Nice mix of wide-open (3 straight par 5's) and tight (some par 4's had blind tee shots). Greens were in great shape. Tried it because I got a really good rate, but I'd love to play it again.
Oak Hills in Norwalk, CT
Staff was very friendly and the starter got us out quick. It was on a weekday so the pace was excellent. However, it was the day after heavy rain and course was pretty wet. Fun course and would love to play there again.
A very relaxing place
A wonderful place I enjoy it I can't way to go back and try the restaurant.
Waited at least 10 minutes on every hole! Never play there again~
Front 9 had a bunch of tricked out holes. Blind doglegs with crazy elevations. Back 9 flat, long and boring....
Don't bother unless you're a Norwalk resident. They don't entice out of towners at all!
Try Everything Once
The course begins with the 1st 7 Fairways and greens challenging, blind spots, dog legs and sloped areas. The next 11 Greens are not as challenging as far as golf is concerned, but the limited signage to get to each hole is scarce, entering and exiting through the parking lot is odd. After completing the front 9 you must use the cart path which is at the end of the tee box of the 10th hole. All in all beautiful day, which made it more enjoyable
Very under-rated, good playable municipal course
Well designed, and somewhat wide opened course with few blind dogleg holes. iF you are first timer, you will get lost after hole six to go to hole seven.
Greens are reasonably fast and readable.
This course is fair for the price asked
I only paid $19.00 to play and for that price it was worth it but it was very slow playing and the course was a bit unfair at times. Some great holes however as well.
Oak Hills is in terrible condition, much worse than years ago.
I used to play Oak Hills years ago before I joined a private club. I played it again recently and found it had deteriorated badly. The fairways are full of weeds and bare patches, the traps are in sad shape, and the greens are slow and uneven. And the starter acts like he's doing you a favor to answer a question.
Great value
Most every hole required careful club selection before teeing off. Greens were in great shape and played very fast.
typical muni with great bones, I go every year at least once
