Need a ranger
Everything except pace of play was great. The group in front of us had 4 inexperienced players who had no idea about golf eddicate. They were hitting multiple shots, driving carts up to the fringe and just taking their sweet time. They tied up the whole golf course to the point the group behind us quit. Took that group 30 minutes to play the 11th hole. Took us 5 1/2 hours and if we were in front of them 3-3 1/2. Just a suggestion hire a ranger on heavy play days and this won't happen.
Club Pro couldn't care less
I have played this course three times. There have been periods of slow play during each round. The course has been of average to less than good during these rounds. I have booked my tee times through GolfNow. I noticed when we check in at the Pro shop they always put us with others who have booked through GolfNow. During one of the rounds, another golfer who frequents the club, mentioned the Pro was difficult with GolfNow bookers and went out of his way to overtly express his feelings. I did'nt think anything of it at that time. Well guess what. He was spot on. We booked a time to play today. Showed up at the course and was told we could not play because of a tournament. GolfNow was not called by the club. And of course, the Pro was not available because he was playing. No apologies from the teenagers handeling the desk or the Pro. The rumours are true the Pro does not care and goes out of his way to get the message accross to the public.
afternoon round
Good round for the price, weather wasn't great for about 5 holes but rain helped slow down dry areas. Always the back nine is more challenging & very picturesque. Would recommend if you haven't played before but not overly challenging for advanced player
Greens were aerated recently and were very slow and bumpy. We weren't notified before hand. Very slow group in front of us. Played this course before and was always very good before this time.
pequabuck
Play was very slow. course in good shape. great staff.
Fun track
Love this course. Several scenic holes. Short but very challenging. Keep your ball out of the trees and you can score. Large very tough fast greens. Fairways and cart paths need work...its a bumpy ride. They also need to address the geese problem on the 10th green and 11th hole...it's a mess if you know what i mean. With a $20 hot deal on golfnow you cant go wrong though.
First time here
The course has a very nice layout forcing you to hit good shots. The greens are in very good shape, fairways are good but the rough needs a lot of help. I would return to the course.
Pequabuck Golf Club
Nice old New England Course established in 1905
Some beautiful and challenging holes especially the Par 4 11th which is listed at 410 yards , but plays around 450.
Greens were in good shape, medium speed , but rolled well.
A must play at a good value.
staff?
What gives with the mgmt? We arrived at 12n or a few minutes before. Instructed the name of our party and our tee time -12:44 to the mgr and asked what time we could go off.... He said it would be right at 12:44 - okay, figured there were a few groups in front of us - A foursome teed off at 12:05 - then there was nobody else - never acknowledge to go ahead at 12:44 WTF Courses tell you to show up 15 to 30 minutes ahead of time.
Late Spring round
Peaceful course. Some spots need maintenance; (ladies & senior tee boxes almost nonexistent). Love Hole #10. Some holes are blind, shots challenging,- stay on fairways. Need to be in good shape to walk this course!
Long Time...
Haven`t played this course in about 25 years, STILL a nice course !!! Only down side was the lack of signage
on some of the holes...The course was in great shape...Had a 1:40 tee time and hooked up with another twosome, had a good time...NO ONE BEHIND US THE WHOLE ROUND !!! It was a great day...I would absolutley reccomend Peaqubuck golf course !!!
It is a challenging course and beautiful as well. We all had a great time. Fairways and greens great the rough was rough.
Wonderful Time
Played late morning round. Felt like we had the course to ourselves. Beautiful scenery. Layout makes you use every club in the bag. Wonderful friendly staff.
Great course!
Great course for the money. Green always in great shape, especially early in the year. Don't be fooled by the scorecard, this course has some very challenging holes and small undulating greens.
nice course
wish they had somekind of food it was Monday I guess the kitchen was closed
Nice Layout Very Challenging
I enjoy playing this course since it is so challenging. The par 69 sounds like a short course, but the par 3's are long & very challenging. A number of par 4's are very long & many have difficult carries & approach shots. It seems like a couple of the par 4's could be made a little longer & turn them into par 5's. Expect to shoot 4-5 strokes over your average round. Although challenging, all the holes especially the par 3 #10 are visually beautiful holes. I highly recommend playing this course.
