Demi private
This course is always in very good condition and is well worth paying full price. I have played here many times and have never been disappointed. The staff is exceptional.
Great scenery, challenging course
It was my first time to play in this course. My wife and I were enjoying golfing yesterday. Actually, my wife wants to come again this course. Great scenery course. Especially, my wife and I love 10th island hole.
Don't be fooled (by the yardage)
Before we started, we looked atthe scorecard and saw the back tee yardage was only 6000 yards. Those tees were challenging, with a number of par 4 holes over 400 yards and par 3's over 180. What i missed was that the course was only par 69, with no par 5's on the back. We played on a windy October day, leaves and pine needles were everywhere - not the courses fault. There were lots of tight dogleg holes, and greens were very fast and sloped. Overall course conditions were good, not great. At $50 with cart its a good value - would like to play there again knowing where the doglegs go.
Still no idea how to pronounce the name, but..
Pequabuck is a very, very nice course; once you get past the first hole, the worst hole on the course, and find the second tee, yes first timers like ourselves will have issues there, another time on the front (maybe after the 4th or 5th) and after the 17th, they do need better signage, this is a cool course; The front is mostly narrow with some very interesting holes; And I'm sure there is somewhere in CT where there are three better holes in a row than 10/11/12, but off the top of my head I can't name them; 13 has power lines near the green, sort of weird, and I'd love to see them push the 14th tee back and make it a par 5; But all in all, this is a fun and interesting course to play; And if you are on the wrong side of the green, that 10 footer for birdie can be a 12 footer coming back for par: If you haven't played this course try it; highly recommended:
Great value
Great value, course in excellent shape as of 9/26/2014.
Very Challenging, beautiful views and features
This is an excellent course, in great condition. Very challenging. and the staff was fantastic.....I'll be back
Customer Experience ....
Unreal how clueless the staff in the clubs house are. This club must be making so much money that they do not need to care about the Customer Experience that they are providing. There are 199 other courses in CT and I would suggest to pick one of those.
Good course
Fun course average difficulty the back is more fun than the front will def play here again
Scenic views
Course was confusing to start after 1st hole because you had to pass 2 holes to find the next one. Had same issue going from 17 to 18. Other than that enjoyed the day except for 11th fairway completely covered in goose droppings and 5 different times hand golf balls rain on us from players behind us. But giving the course another try.
fun course
Nice course, difficult but really fun to play. Staff was nice. Bit of a goose problem on the 10th but other than that great course.
Greens are in great shape
The course is in great shape. Pace of play is quick. The holes are challenging for the length of the course.
Pequabuck Golf Course
The tees, fairways and greens all in very good playing condition, however the first cut of rough is so thick the average player can't recover ( 3 to 4 inches ). Often it takes 5 or more minutes to locate the ball off the fairway slowing play dramatically. I lost four news balls and the height of the lush rough cost me at least five strokes. A golf professional preparing for a major open would have a difficult time striking the ball. this should be addressed.
Will not play again
The fairways and greens are good. The rough and the traps need improvement. Even with golfnow discount I would not play again too bad because the back 9 is interesting
Hidden Gem
My wife and I played here today for the first time. Pace of play was very fast. Though we normally play in under 3 1/2 hrs. we let 2 groups play through. Course is classic New England - built in 1902. Mature tree lined fairways, pretty tight, lots of blind shots. It takes local knowledge to play well here. Second nine is longer and more difficult.
The greens are superb. Immaculate condition and putt very true. Subtle breaks. Cart paths and rough are scruffy - must keep the ball on the fairway to score here. Pro and clubhouse staff are very friendly and welcoming. Nice bar and food is pretty good. We enjoyed it here and will definitely play here again.
Nice track
Played the afternoon of the club championship, so we basically had the course to ourselves. Course was in good shape, fairways rolled well and greens were fast. You don't need a driver on a lot of holes. Got a great price on golfnow and would play again if I was in the area.
Great track
Wide open and challenging at the same time
Staff and customers helpful and friendly
Actual location is
56 School St, Terryville, CT 06786, United States
(Wrong on golfnow site)
Great value!!!
A Short but Challenging Track
Played Pequabuck for only the 2nd time since last fall, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff was welcoming & helpful, and the course was in excellent condition. It's a shortie at just over 6,000 yards, but challenging nonetheless. The greens were a tad quick , but rolled smoothly and true. I'll definitely be back!
Pequabuck
Great Course. Deceptively challenging. This course will punish you if you don't hit good shots but will reward you for good ones.
Fun day at the course
Greens were in good shape, they are fast with multiple breaks.Fairways were freshly cut.Water on 10 & 11. Many sandtraps.Geese like to congregate around the water holes, approach with caution. Nicely maintained course fun to play.
great layout
Good course, conditions, and personnel. Very good views around the course, scenic. Under 4 hour round!
