3rd: par-4, 430. This Cape design tempts you to take the shortest route down the fairway toward the green (on left). Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

7th, par-3, 220. A well-guarded and contoured green; a pleasant backdrop. Seen here from its left flank. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

8th: par-4, 352. Green complex at this short and steeply downhill hole--made perilous by a pond. Eagle potential, however. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

The par-4 14th, 447. Long, beautiful, and possibly deadly. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

Sixteen is another excellent, long par-4 concluding on this green. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

18th, par-5 of 588. The signature hole? I’ll go for that. Great bunkering from Mungeam. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 08/07/2021

Miane in Putnam Connecticut
I love this coarse. It reminds me of a modified Sunday River and Sugarloaf with not such extreme terrain. The setting is wonderful, the coarse challenging and interesting. I don't think there is a hole on the coarse I do not like. Though I had never played it till this year I understand the previous owner had let the coarse go. The new owner is doing it right and this is the first time I have seen new asphalt cart paths being installed. The maintenance manager is a pro and proud of what he has done and what he intends to do. Selfishly, the only problem I have with writing a review is I would like to keep this gem to myself. If I didn't live in Newport I would join in a heart beat. A GREAT COARSE!
Good golf
Challenging course. Not too long from the blues but staying on the fairway is more important than distance Greens are full of subtle changes and fast enough to roll considerably by of you're not careful. Also great scenery.
Always great
Played CT national for the first time this year and have already been back twice. One of my new favorite courses. Fairways and greens always in great shape. Greens can be lightning! Nice layout and friendly staff, always a fun round.
Long drive
It takes time to reach the geographic center of nowhere, but when you do you are rewarded. The course is pristine and the use of mounding and bunkering elevate CTN from a nice track to worth the hour ride. Great staff, great views...and if you have a long ride home have a beer & burger before you leave because they are good.
one of the best in Connecticut
Had a great day..course was awesome...greens were beautiful... Great layout..
CT NAT'L
1st time playing here, course in is good shape, but if you don't know where you are going the green to tee box is not well marked. watch out for hole 8 - short downhill par 4, easily reachable but there's a pond front & right side of the green that drowns golfballs. will definitely go back, worth the drive & they have great golfnow rates ...

Great course. A must play in CT. We traveled 1.5 hrs and are already planning our net trip.
No "plain jane" holes here
The course was in excellent condition and played firm and fast. Very interesting green complexes with a need to stay below the hole if at all possible.I really enjoyed the day.
A Challenge
This course is a must play the tall wispy fescue grass whic hlines several faiwasy is reminiscent of a lnks style course. Greens were fast and true. Worht the drive .
Very nice, interesting course
Course is very hilly, has great views, and a lot of slopes where you may not expect them. I'm looking forward to playing again now that I know where some of the hidden hazards are. BTW, you cannot walk this course. Some of the holes are about 1/2 mile apart. I must have put about 8 miles on the cart.
Hidden Gem
Worth the trek from Providence, greens in excellent shape...
Best course a must play
Not what i anticipated. Really enjoyed the course. Great layout fantastic condition and great practice facility.
Off the beaten path
This course is to far to play more than once a year. It was an hour and a half from Cheshire Ct. The course was in very good condition and it is a nice track. On the downside it seems to be trying to be a upscale course that fails in a few areas. First they need new score cards, they give very little info and most people playing this course are not regulars. Need ball washers on every hole not just some. Has much room for improvement.
Course- good layout/ conditions need rejuvenation
The course is well designed with interesting holes on a beautiful piece of property. However, the conditions from tees through the fairways were very neglected and showed an obvious lack of long term maintenance- though the greens were not in bad shape. Also, the pace of play was way too slow- over 5hrs!! - a lack of effective course rangers. Had a fun round but until the above issues are resolved, the course is not on my "must replay" list.
Great
Ct National always meets or beats our expectations. The staff is always friendly, the course is beautiful, the layout challenging, and the price is right. Strongly recommend playing here. Cheers
Have Fun
I have been to CTN on a few occasion, however this course is getting better and better to play and the views are awesome. So go and have fun, I play with 3 folks I didn't know we play at different level and tees and still had a great round and just a little over 4 hours!
One of My favorites
I don't know what else to say about this course other than that it's pretty awesome. You have a mixture of a traditional course and a links course. The sea grass is nothing to mess with and can be extremely hard if you're not hitting straight. The fairways are in perfect condition and the greens are really fast. It was obvious that the greens were still healing when I played, but if they're gonna be faster than what I played in, then boy are you up for a serious challenge! 10 times out of 10 I would play again and if it was closer to me, I would be a member! Play the course and enjoy the day!
well respected course
I was very impressed with the course. The greens where true and fast "which I loved" the fairways very well cut and the rough definitely gave you a challenge to hit greens in regulation. Overall very challenging and pleasant
Above average
The course is in good shape for the time of the year. All the high grass is none existent so it plays alot easier. At the discount price it is very nice deal.
Early spring golf
Course is greening up nicely. Fairways were wet from all the rain we've been getting but still very playable. Greens were recently airated but should be great in another week
