About
Wheeler Family Traditions Golf Club (formerly known as The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford) is one of the most affordable rounds in the area and it has received praise as one of the best golf courses in Connecticut. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will also find it to be a fun round. The holes are fairly straightforward though there are some fairways that have very narrow landing areas that will test the accuracy of even the best golfers. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed along the undulating greens and water also comes into play on the occasional hole. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging on the back nine. The most memorable hole on the golf course, the par-3 12th, is a water hole that features an intimidating island green.

Having fun with friends
Just hanging out with friends and enjoying this beautiful weather with three of my best friends.this is another one of those course that is well taking care of.I love seeing a place like this, and the price is right.we only played nine he's and we had a great time.Eve r yone should book a tee time and come out and play even just nine holes,and you will have a great time here. I could guarantee you that you will enjoy yourself like we did.
Soft, usually most of the year
I've played here a bunch of times. The layout slope rating is challenging. Many blind tee shots. There are areas that never dry out and are swampy; in the fairways. Just think for the price at what they charge; we'd expect better conditions. Something that bothers me, and this isn't the golf course but rather the people whom play here, theres always trash about the course. Why are people throwing trash around?!
My advice, dont wear your best pants, because you're probably going to be wet and dirty.
March Madness
Today is our 2021 opening day. My friend and I compete every year a d one of us always win the round by one or two strokes. Yesterday was no different, I lost to my friend 90÷91. .I hD our first Birdie of the year on the 18th he with a six feet birdie to end the round. The golf course wS really in good conditions for this time of the year.. and it was cartpath only, so the fIrways, tee box and greens was in good conditions. EVERYONE TRIED TO FOLLOW THE RULES.We had a great time and we met two good guys at the golf course and the weather was great. Looking forward to a great year. I should be able to break that magic number #80 this year.

Highway noise
My wife & I have played every Sunday all season this year at many courses.
I don’t know if it was the unseasonably warm November weather - but the highway noise was distracting. That definitely was the loudest I’ve heard at a course.
We golfed with a couple regulars so the game was enjoyable. Except for regular delays, two hit stray hits into our fairway. We had a extended wait at one tee box because of that.
Annoyed at staff
I signed my partner and me up for a 12:20 tee time. When I got there was told they moved our tee time to 12:30. As the first tee was already backed up, I knew we would be fighting darkness to finish round. I was told by the starter that we should finish with no problem. As it was extremely slow, we played the last two holes in the dark. It took over four and a half hours to play. I am very annoyed that they would move our tee time without consent.

35 Bux!!!!! Greens were quick and in great shape. Awesome for a 77 degree day in November!
Superb service
There was a glitch with my golfnow reservation. The pro shop and starter worked together to team me up with another 2 golfers. Otherwise I woulda played alone behind 4 somes!!
Course was in tip top shape from tee to green.
Paid for 18 holes and it started to pour rain after 5 holes.. staff was unfriendly and not willing to credit us for 9 holes.. very disappointing
Great Course
Loved this course. Was a lot of fun with different types of holes. Very challenging as well. Great value for the price. Will play again
