About
Wheeler Family Traditions Golf Club (formerly known as The Tradition Golf Club at Wallingford) is one of the most affordable rounds in the area and it has received praise as one of the best golf courses in Connecticut. The par-70 layout is player friendly enough for beginners but low handicappers will also find it to be a fun round. The holes are fairly straightforward though there are some fairways that have very narrow landing areas that will test the accuracy of even the best golfers. Numerous bunkers are strategically placed along the undulating greens and water also comes into play on the occasional hole. The golf course starts out gently but becomes progressively more challenging on the back nine. The most memorable hole on the golf course, the par-3 12th, is a water hole that features an intimidating island green.

Even with drizzle and the course being quite wet, the golf experience was great.
Fun, challenging course
challenging but playable course. great opening par 5 might be toughest on the course. great 9th hole par 5. lots of elevation changes. stupid 11th par 3 200+ straight up a huge hill...not cool. rest of the course was fun and in great shape for march. definitely not easy from the tips.

Played here on numerous occasions, and I truly enjoy this course. Well kept and just enough challenge for an average golfer like myself

Always a great time
One of my favorite courses in the area. Pace of play was fantastic, don’t believe I got held up at any tee box or fairway. Pace never seems to be an issue here.
Conditions were alright, I noticed puddles in some sand traps and on some fairways, but there had been substantial rain in the days prior to my round. Overall the course was in great shape for a late season round.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. Saw the beverage cart around 5 or 6 times, always stocked and had plenty of waters. Starter helped my partner get her clubs onto the cart while I finished paying.
Overall excellent experience, as always with Traditions!

Love to play here again and again. Be alert on the greens. They are quite fast so landing before/below pin is better.
Excellent course
I love playing at this course repeatedly. It’s challenging yet always leaves one with the feeling that one can do better as one becomes familiar with it. Staff are friendly and helpful.
