Tee boxes
First time I’ve ever played golf without a tee lol. Could not get it in the ground. Frozen!!!
Pace of play was somewhat slow, but we made it through the round. Staff couldn't have been nicer. All in all, Delcastle is a very nice course that I will definitely plan to hit again when it warms up in the spring.
Very pretty course
Lovely design in good condition. Staff very friendly and helpful. Tees could use improvement. Will definitely play again.
Been a long time
I played Delcastle with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. I hadn’t played there in 25 years. We had an enjoyable experience. The staff was very friendly. The course has definitely matured. The trees frame the holes nicely. There is a fair amount of room out there, especially on the front. The layout is a little boring, consisting mainly of back and forth, straight par fours and a few par fives. For a course in Delaware, however, there is a pleasing amount of elevation change that make things more interesting. The greens and fairways were in decent shape, but some of the bunkers needed attention here and there. Pace of play was fine. Price was competitive. I never think to play this course; I probably should more often.
Good Solid Course
Delcastle is a great local course. I probably would not travel far to play here but it is a solid course. The front nine is very straightforward and wide open but the back nine is a different story with some very tricky and challenging holes. The fairways and greens were in pretty decent shape. Some of the tee boxes could use some attention but that seems to be the case at a lot of courses this year.
The openness of the front nine and the interesting holes on the back make this a fun course to play.
Jam em in
Tee time was 4pm played 9 holes and left at 645pm. NO ONE enforced pace of play. At one point there was 3 groups waiting to tee off on one hole. When I complained after the 9th hole the gentleman acted like 2hours and 45 minutes wasn’t bad for 9 holes. He said that they were packed today. NO KIDDING
