Reviews
Delcastle is a solid course
Course is in ok shape and always fun to play. Can be slow but that is purely due to the high handicappers. I generally play 4.5-5 hour rounds on the weekend. Great value and getting better each year.
Overall a nice course
Decent public course, well kept this far into the season with the weather we have had. Would recommend for anyone looking for a cheaper option for something decent.
The Course starts long
The first 5 holes are very long. Greens were true and rolled perfect.
Good value
The course has seen better days. The rain has been overwhelming. I am guessing that seeding has been trying with al the rain. It has created bare spots in the fairways and tee boxes. Today a guy collecting trash cans but no one to rake the sand traps.
Conditions
Told by starter “conditions are great right now”. Multiple fairways patchey, extremely fast greens with chunks and divots throughout, and Tee boxes torn apart. I have played worse but also have played much better.
Tight course, a lot of elevation change, and hazards galore. Challenging and fun but greens and fairways made it unnecessarily difficult.
Questionable
So I showed up about an hr early for my tee time. Got told that it was a single cart for the both of us.
COVID is happening right now. I made two separate tee times just to make sure I had two carts. Anywhere I go except for this place, has realized that.
Course was okay. Not too much of a challenge which is good.
Jjst not happy about the cart situation due to having to be charged an additional $16 if I wanted a seperate cart from my friend. It picks up the pace of play for everyone.
I'd be willing to go back
Good
Fun day with my husband.
Would recommend you do not start people on the back 9 .slowed our play and waiting in the heat was miserable.
