Nickol Knoll Golf Club

About
Ever since opening in the mid '90s, Arlington Heights Golf Club has been considered one of the best par-3 golf courses in Chicagoland. It is certainly one of the most unique with three holes that feature vertical-drop tee shots and two holes with uphill tee shots to the green. Although this nine-hole course is only 1,163 yards the large bentgrass tees and greens provide the feel of a full-length course. The layout has nearly 30 bunkers strategically placed throughout and water comes into play on two holes. From the elevated tees you can enjoy a panoramic view of the area, including stunning vistas of the Chicago skyline. Whether you're a beginner looking to get some practice or a scratch golfer who wants to get in a quick round, Arlington Heights Golf Club is a fun and challenging option.

No customer service
Accidentally booked the wrong tee time, called to cancel and and get a refund but the man on the phone said I would have to go through golfnow. Since I checked out as a guest there is no golf now record of my reservation so there is no place to cancel. Person on the phone “couldn’t do a thing about it”. Weather or not that’s true it’s a very silly way to run a business and leaves yourself open to negative reviews.
Solid cheap course. Rude clubhouse interaction
First time doing this course and using this app(golfnow). Was running a little late and went straight to the first tee (didn't know you still had to check in at the clubhouse if you bought thru the app, looking back that makes sense )
The clubhouse front desk guy came our with a terribly negative energy and dang near yelling at me for not checking in. I may have been wrong, but he didn't have to approach me with that ahole energy. I checked in and apologized, but that first interaction ever with this course really soured me to this course. I will not recommend this course in the future.
Other than my poor first interaction, its a solid par 3, 9 hole course. Nicely priced.
Make sure you check in!
Great way to squeeze 9 in
You won't need any big clubs but that doesn't mean it's too easy or it's not fun. The biggest challenge here is often the wind, being higher up in a relatively flat area. The slopes off some holes also make some greens play tight. The maintenance is good and the course is clean. On a couple holes the layout isn't totally straightforward and you have to figure out where the next tee is. Overall, it's a great way to get a fast 9 in when you want to work your short irons.
Great course for your irons
Clean, well kept greens and grass. Different elevations when playing which allows for good workout, but also Different reads to take on your balls. The greens are challenging with there speed but are a great size. Really enjoy the course and hospitality!!
Walter Payton!!!! Course has unique tie to one of the greatest. Hole 3 gives big hint, but the rock on the patio in the corner tells the story!!
Good luck and enjoy your round!!!
Great track
Awesome 9 hole par three. Great condition and green in April were rolling well. Payton hill on #3 is photo must.
Rudeness from the Attendant on Duty
I scheduled and payed for 2. Then invited my brother to join us. But the attendant said we could not change the lineup for a threesome. We were scheduled at 1:20pm. He added us to a twosome starting at 1:25pm. So I did not play. And my son & brother were forced to play with the twosome scheduled after us. He was rigid and RUDE! I have played Nickel Knoll many many times over the years and have never had a problem until last Saturday.
Fun little track!
This was my first time here and it was a really fun little par three. Enough trouble to work around and easy enough to just shoot and have fun. Most definitely will play again.
Great course to get started
I’ve been taking my boys to play Nickol Knoll every weekend for years. It’s a perfect place to get them started. The course is always in great shape. The head pro, Steve, is always friendly and helpful.
