Absolute gem
$20 and you're done in 90 minutes walking a loop around a lake, through some trees. Par 3 course with a few bonus par 4 holes.
Great layout. Hole 1 from the blue tees is a fun hole that where you have to decide where you want to cross the water. Hole 2 is a long par 3 over the water with bunkers behind the greens that slope down towards the water, a good challenge. Several bunkers surround hole 4, and hole 5 asks you to hit ~160 yards to be able to approach the green from ~110 out. Hole 7 requires precision to avoid bunkers. Honestly a great layout for a Par 3, had plenty of character.
Greens and tee boxes were in surprisingly good condition. Virtually no ball marks on the greens. Sand is what you would expect in a budget municipal course - none of the bunkers were dry, but it was not packed down.
The course made sure to put water out at multiple locations which was much appreciated on a day where it was 90 degrees. There are benches at every hole - only wish they would position them so that they were in the afternoon shade when possible.
The facility also includes a unique driving range where you can hit balls into the water, as well as practice putting and chipping greens, and a great outdoor patio area and restaurant/cafe.
Family golf or quick nine
Been playing this 9 hole for years. My kids all took lessons here and it’s a great place for family rounds of golf with kids. Essentially a par three course but with two short and challenging par 4 holes. Greens in great shape.. Always in decent shape overall and reasonably priced. Good practice area with driving range and beer served in the clubhouse. Nice place to work on the short game or play a round in less than 90 minutes after work.
Great Value, Fun Time!
Twin Lakes is my go-to course if I’m looking to play a casual 9 holes and practice my short irons. Rates are typically between $8 and $12, which is a steal. What’s nice about Twin Lakes is that there are two Par 4’s so you get a chance to pull out your driver/ 3-wood. Water comes into play on 3 of the 9 holes and there are plenty of sand traps to add to the challenge. The greens are well-kept, roll true, and will test your skills. I’ve probably played Twin Lakes 25+ times and will continue to play it because I love the course, it’s playable for golfers of all skill levels, and always makes for an enjoyable round.
