Clinton Hill Country Club
About
Clinton Hill Golf Course has a classic, player-friendly layout that has been open to the public since 1970. The traditional design is gentle enough for beginners but there are still challenges in store for the more experienced golfer. The rolling fairways are lined with mature trees and the approach to the massive greens demands proper club selection. The greens are in good condition but they can be tricky and hard to read. Each nine has a distinct character and different set of challenges that will keep golfers on their toes. While the front nine is longer with numerous strategically placed bunkers, water hazards come into play on all but two holes on the back nine. In addition to having an enjoyable layout that appeals to a wide range of skill levels, Clinton Hill Golf Course is also a great value.

Fun day
Great weather, could think of any thing I would rather be doing. Course has several blind shots as you would be expecting from a place with "hills" in the name. Good shape for time of year.
Nice older course, would be pretty in the summer
Needed a little attention, altho good shape for the time of year, no complaints
Course is well maintained and lots of fun to play.
The course is well maintained and well marshaled for pace of play. We got a great value for the money for a weekend round.
Bad course
Sandiest greens I've ever seen. Overall course is boring.
Virtually Unplayable
Greens were more sand then grass....staff was friendly, but there was an eightsome and a fivesome playing, rough was patchy at best, fairways were 1"-2" and a mixture of grass and weeds...I have played 20+ courses in the area over the past two years, and I understand what you get in a cheap muni, but this course needs to be closed and brought up to a minimal level of playability.
I am very sorry you had this experience at our golf course.
The reason the greens were so sand is from the aerification that we had to get done earlier that week.
I hope you will try us again.

Double Dip!
Front 9 was a good golfing experience. Trouble began when we made the turn. WE get back to the clubhouse and realize a 100+ man tournament is starting. Marshall tells us there is going to be a long wait before we can tee off on 10 and we might have better luck playing the front 9 again. We reluctantly agree and tee off on hole number 1...again.. Make it to the green on hole 1 only to have another marshall tell us we cant play the front 9 because it will slow down the tournament. Go back into the clubhouse where one of the pro shop workers tells us to zig zag through everyone game to play hole 6 then skip to 8 blah blah blah. Told him I wasn't interested and wanted a refund for the back 9 only which they refused. I understand golf courses need to make money but do not double book open play and tournaments at the same time. I will NEVER be playing this course again.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAVE BEEN TO CLINTON HILLS EACH TIME I HAVE ENJOYED THE CHALLENGE.
IT REQUIRES THE USE OF ALL MY CLUBS AND THAT WHATS MAKES IT DIFFERCUT AND CHALLENGE.
nice layout, hardly ever left cart path
Wide fairways, nice mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s made for an enjoyable afternoon round. My first time at CH but won't be my last.
This course is always in great condition.
Very nice golf course, good challenges and very well groomed.
greens were in good shape, the fairways all had alot of crab grass
Very nice course, however the fairways had alot of crab grass. The greens were in great shape and were playing fast.
its called bermuda!
Some challenging holes a couple hokey holes.
They are having issues with burrowing pests on the greens. Little mounds of dirt are everywhere. Not condusive to good putting.
This is a beautifully desiged course. Has everything.
Great course. A real walk in Gods handy work! Will have you talking about the looks of most holes. You will remember hole #18 for the shots required to score well and the fairway you must manage to get to the green.
Nice course!
Played this course with a friend and even though were are both beginners we didn't feel rushed or crowded. There was heavy rainfall the night before and the fairways were in great shape. The greens were really nice and rolled well.
Nice Course
Clinton Hills is in good shape and plays fair. This course is not too hard and is fun to play.
Cant beat the price.
Cant beat the prices here. Course is in pretty good shape, greens could use some work. Overall fun course to play.
why did the greens need work?
Wonderful value for the last minute tee-timer
It was very hot and humid. Pace of play was terrific. Fairways were good but a little dry(area needs rain). Greens were good but cut a little long because of weather. It was a good quick round for a Saturday afternoon. Had a great time. Clinton Hill has a few tricky holes that take experience to play well but is overall a great course.
Course has nice features.
The course is as named hilly. Fairways are acceptable. Greens roll at good pace. Bunkers are well kept. Food available in club house bar area. Deck available for chilling out. Nice public course with range available as well.
Greens were very nice (true roll)
Golf course has come a long way from the condition earlier during the year.
Not well managed or maintained.
It did rain the night before, so I figured it would be wet, but most fairways were under water. Fairways have clover patches all over them. Tough to play in a swamp. The t-times are too close together(8min). We were the first group out, and by the time we hit our decoy d shot, there were 3 more groups waiting at the t-box. We were very rushed. Then when we got to 10, they let a group start at 10 ahead of us, so we were backed up more. Poor t-time management. Oh, and there was a worker maintaining the greens, which would have been fine if he moved when we were
T-ing off on the par 3, but he just went on working in middle of the green. Came close to hitting him.
Enough challenging holes to make it interesting//good-sized greens
My son and I played it on a sunny afternoon and found it a good challenge. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Played it about 8-10 years ago (and previously) and this is the best condition I've experienced. Has changes in elevation but not overdone. Avoids well the back-and-forth monotony that plagues many public courses. I gave it a "maintained" rating but it bordered on the "pristine" rating. It has more of a country club feel than most public courses. Will return for another shot.
(BTW, has a well-maintained driving range and huge putting green---practice your long putts as many of the greens are big).
Sir,
I am sorry you feel that way. The reason for the sand on the greens is because we Aerified our greens the two days prior to your round. I hope you try us again, the greens have recovered beautifully.
