Chalet Hills Golf Club

Chalet Hills is probably the best value and the course is in great shape. The staff was fabulous and organized and even with many people asking them questions b/c of Covid, they were extremely patient and welcoming. I would highly recommend playing this course!

I've played Chalet Hills for the past 3 years. Each year some improvements. Course is in excellent shape and if my putting would improve, I would have had an excellent round on Thursday. Pace of play was right at 4-1/4 hours with a tee time around 9:30. When I play earlier in the week as a single in the early morning, I'm usually done in 2-3/4 hours..

Staff is always on top of things, Carrie who manages the bar/grill area is on top of it all and during the covid situation makes everyone feel comfortable. Jimmy in the Pro Shop goes out of his way to ensure things work right. There's a young guy who worsk the Pro Shop in the morning who is pretty excellent. Arne the Superintendent/Manager always has time to say hello when he isn't fully involved out on the course or in the clubhouse.

I'm not saying this is the best course in Chicago, but I've got to imagine it has to be pretty close. The first hole in the morning is beautiful with the sun coming up. You hit directly into it, I hit two just to ensure I can find at least one. You'll also see occasional deer or fox around the 14th and 15th hole. Just a great place to escape to.

First time here. Course was well taken care of. Some of the best greens I’ve played on. The course Is very challenging but.....it’s one of the good ones. Beauty of a course ! Better hit em straight !

Played this course 15 years ago. Always like the varied terrain and mix of difficulty. One of the prettier courses around.. Course is under some construction, especially in the bunkers. Still a good value.

Course was wet in the some of the rough. Bunkers weren’t raked or had rakes. No rangers out to keep pace of play. The course was in good condition considering all the rain they’ve had. Greens were in good shape. I would play here again, but prob during the week.

Chalet is a shell of what it once was - very slow play and the course was poorly maintained. Limited yardage markers and hacks everywhere! Clearly current ownership cares little about the game!

Once one of the best courses in Illinois is now only slightly above your local muni - if you’re a true golfer, play only when no other options are available, but plan for a long and frustrating day!

With all the rain we had , the course was in good condition considering all the flooding. You have to hit it straight here to score.. There aren’t many rounds played here where you don’t lose a ball!

A one time great course, that fell under poor management. Arnie and the new group are bringing it back. The bunkers are still a work in progress, however they're getting there.

Chalet Hills for years has offered a 5 play pass for $150. This is the first year I can remember that they have not offered the 5 play pass.

No one in my foursome can afford to pay the full greens fee and therefore our only way to play this course is through the 5 play pass.

So it looks like this year we will not be able to play this course. We always purchased drinks and food so Chalet Hills will be losing our business.

The course does not have enough drainage. Had to ride

cart path on at least 9 of the holes. Would like to have been told this before I paid not after.

I’ve played this course many times over the years and seen it in a variety of conditions. Recent changes are good but traps still need a lot of work. Hope to see conditions improve.

We don’t play golf in December north of Chicago, but we had another mid 50 weather day! With all the rain the day before, the course was wet, but definitely playable!

Chalet Hills is a fun, challenging course. Unfortunately, the egocentric hackers who insist on teeing from the tips as they progress slowly around the course dampens the fun. The lack of rangers have been an issue here, but hard to have them in late December.

Lots of risk reward shots on this course. Usually in good condition and pretty good pace of play most of the time, have probably played this course around 20 times. Has come down in price though various deals and such as well.

Good course to play if you like a challenge!
