Extra fee for own cart
Even during these tough COVID times, I was charged an additional $12 to ride in my own cart. The girl at the desk at chalet tried to force me to ride with a stranger. Based on the state guidelines, I am not even sure if that is allowed. Just that alone, makes me question ever wanting to have another round here.

So sad
This course used to be one of my favorites.
So sad to see the condition it is in. Greens are total garbage, people not fixing ball marks and diseased surfaces.
Pace of play was painfully slow, took 4.5 hours to get around. Doubtful I'll be back this season...

What happened to Chalet?
Course was in average shape. Leaves and grass clippings all over greens.
Cart paths deteriorating.
Staff not friendly.
Course charging extra $12 for your own cart. Not sure if this is even legal in Illinois. I was in hospital for over a month and doctors said take your own cart. On deaf ears.
Chalet used to be one of the best courses in the area.

Sand trap fail
Everything was great but a few sand traps had more rocks than sand.

Enjoyable course
First time here. Was a little busy and backed up but after the 4th hole it opened up enough to make the pace of play speed up. I will be coming back to play again

Best course in the area
A very challenging course. There are some holes you cannot miss. Plenty of elevation changes to test every game. In my opinion it is the best course in the area. Staff is great, the views are awesome, and only a few houses come in to play.

Slow Play, No Ranger
Just a loooong round. I played as a twosome and on a weekday it was a 5 hour round. There was no ranger on duty to keep pace of play moving and they didn't address the issue in spite of myself and the groups in front of and in back of us calling the clubhouse.
I also wasted an hour getting there early to hit balls at their range which is touted on the website but no longer exists. They didn't bother to remove that.
And the greens looked like the surface of the moon. I don't think anyone all day used a ball mark repair tool. All just symptoms of no oversight.
It's a pretty course but I would not go back.

No Marshall was out on the coursed informing them that that they’re handicap should’ve realised that they should’ve play the white tees.
