Fresh Meadow Golf Course

Had an afternoon tee time on a Saturday. First nine played pretty well and things moved quickly. We waited at 20 minutes for the two groups in front of us clear the fairway. Neither group was playing ahead of us on the front nine. It became clear that they were letting groups jump on for a late nine (walking.) During our back nine, there were multiple groups jumping in front of us and slowing down our round, not to mention groups playing music way too loud. We ended up picking up after 17 and not finishing the round after 5 1/2 hours and the sun setting. I have low expectations for a public course at this price point but they should at least have someone out there making sure basic protocols are being followed.

Only issue we had was the golf now app said cart included and they charged me $10 when we arrived. The main reason I booked this course was because it said cart included for the price we paid. The guy in the shop said gold now just started adding that to the description but it’s not accurate. Should really get that fixed

Chicago experiences a heat wave , which turned this municipal course into scorched earth!!!

I've played this course several times as it's relatively inexpensive and close to my house. It's always been hit or miss with the course conditions but this was beyond poor. The only green on the course were the greens as they seem to be the only place on the course that the staff waters. We have had a hot couple of weeks and very little rain but the fairways were so burned up and spotty it was like hitting off a dirt road. Nearly impossible to get under the ball, even in the rough. Hard to improve your game with conditions like this.

$19 hot deals for the group plus $10 for each cart, rock hard fairways added 20-40 yards to drives and long irons. Play here if you need a low score for a bruised ego, but not for a great golf experience.

I have never seen so many broken tees on a box in my life. Every tee box was covered with broken tees. Hundreds.

Also, it looked no one had emptied the garbage cans around the course for days.

At one point there were 10 people waiting to tee off on the same hole.

Its, a nice course to play just to get out. With to COVID-19 changes, things are different so allowances in judgement must be made. Two of us walked on a Saturday morning which wasn't bad at all for weekend golf. There wasn't much waiting for the foursome in front of us. Its been really hot so the grass was burnt in a lot of places. I'm not mad at my golf experience. Nothing bad to say about the course.

This course has seen better days , Not great but not all together terrible either.
