Hawaii Kai Golf Review
Fairways were just okay. Greens were terrible. I played in the middle of the day at 130 so there was no one else in front or back of me. For $130 it definitely not worth it. You can play Waikele Country Club for $30 more and it's in perfect condition.
Would not recommend playing Hawaii Kai
Do NOT waste your money!
This was the worst golf course. The reason the round was so fast was due to it being completely empty. Others already aware of the poor shape this course is in. The greens are covered in mowed weeds and the fairways are baron with mostly dirt patches. The sand traps had rocks bigger than my hands. I would strongly suggest if you want to waste money, go shopping at one of the few ABC markets. You’ll get more in return for the money you spend. While this course was $145, not sure I would have paid over $25. Will never return.
Course conditions were poor
Greens were slow and the course was in terrible condition. I was penalized all day for hitting fairways. I wouldn't play there again for $30 with a cart, so $80 was definitely a bad deal.
Small bucket was $10 and the range balls should have been thrown away 5 years ago. 80% of them knuckled because they were so beat up.
Not worth your money
The views of the ocean are negligible, the fairways are dry, the tee boxes beat up and the greens are horrendously patchy with weeds and grass. The carts are old and the clubhouse is the same. The staff were friendly but 150 per player for a visitor for that is outrageous!
no grass?
nice course, close to home but there is very little grass- dry even on some of the greens. Will this improve when it starts raining ? Hope so

Cost to condition not a value
Course not in good shape, greens are inconsistent.
No food available
No drink cart service
No ice chest on cart
No towels on cart
Entire facility is poorly maintained.
It’s still golf in Hawai’i, so it’s still nice to get out, but this is a $40 course they charge $150 for.
The only good side of the course is the kindness of the staff. Especially the guy at the check-in.
Condition of course has declined
I’ve played this course several times while on vacation over the last several years. It has really gone down hill-the greens are really slow and the fairways have a lot of weeds. Also, the pace of play is slow. There are better courses for the money.
Dont play here, especially if your not from Hawai'i
160 bucks to play the worst course ive ever played. Greens were unkept, fairways were non-existant, cups hadnt been changed in way too long, overall very upset. This could be a bang for your buck muni, but only if it cost less than 20 dollars. Absolutely terrible.
Ok course
The course is in fair to average condition. The young man who worked in the pro shop was one of the friendliest staff persons I’ve met.
