Pheasant Run Resort is one of the Chicago area's most respected resorts. It offers an 18-hole golf course that is playable for a wide range of skill levels. The course is short at just over 6,300 yards from the back tees, but it still provides a fair amount of challenges. The fairways are tight and there are water hazards that come into play on a few holes. The bunkering is minimal but strategically placed to keep you on your toes. The front of the greens are invitingly wide-open and beginners will also appreciate that they are mostly flat and easy to score on. The golf course starts out with a tricky par 5 that doglegs right past the 200-yard marker and there is a water hazard that crosses the fairway. The back nine is slightly longer and also more challenging.

This course is one of the best
This is easily one of my favorite courses. Even though it rained early before we played, and the course was wet it was not sloppy. The fairways and greens are always in great condition.
The course in not really long, but there are some very challenging holes throughout the course.

I have played this course often and have it in our rotation . .. there are times when it takes a long time because it's narrow ! Love the place !

Very Good Condition for Late Season
Fairways (at least the ones I hit) and greens are in very good late season condition
Greens fine, course dried out, bunkers in need of attention,
Outing spoiled by several groups who were quite drunk and slow on course, couple of holes they pplayed as 8 somes. No course marshall to manage the outing.
Not well run or cared for.
Not up to area standards, fourth rate course all around.

Good Course with Relatively Fast Greens, Good Value
Pheasant Run is a reasonably well-maintained course with some challenging features. The greens were relatively fast and in good condition. I'd recommend playing the course.

This is a good course with plenty of water and hazards. Pace is usually good and the staff is great.

Great golf course for the average golfer. Challenging enough from different tee boxes so things dont become routine. Always friendly staff.
