Greens were in very nice shape. Decent speed, well maintained. Very small greens. Some tee boxes in rough shape. Played in just about an hour.....was virtually the only one on the course on a beautiful Monday afternoon. Nice and quiet out the country. Great place to take beginners and kids.
Pleasant Maintained Short Course great for kids
Owned by the Kane County Forest Preserve and managed by GolfVisions I ventured out to the Big Rock countryside on a glorious fall afternoon. Part of my GolfVisions book I buy each Black Friday I was honored with golf/cart with nothing out of pocket and would not have played what I consider a peaceful quiet short course with small decently maintained greens. A Par 29 really a Par 27 as both of the Par 4's are a shade over 215 yards. A nice variety of lengths as I used 5 different irons on tee shots....hitting a green virtually assured a two putt. It helped that the course was not crowded and I finished in under an hour. A great place for kids and beginners.....clubhouse is quaint with no amenities except a restroom. 5 of the holes have water and I really enjoyed the picturesque 94 yard 5th hole which plays downhill over a 30 foot wide stream/brook with a small rock wall fronting the green. Wished I was 10 years old again and lived near this course to learn the game.
