About
Blackberry Oaks in Bristol is a public golf course that has been recognized as one of the Chicagoland area's best courses. The course design utilizes the natural beauty and hazards of the landscape including the native wetlands, grassy prairies, and towering stands of mature oaks. Blackberry Creek also meanders through the course. In addition to the natural hazards, a heavy smattering of strategically placed bunkers was also incorporated into the design. Although it can seem intimidating, the golf course isn't overly formidable if you can manage to stay out of the sand and water. The third and 12th holes are two par 4s that are memorable for their water hazards. The third has a lake along either side and the 12th has a green that is almost entirely surrounded by water.

Beautiful Landscape
May be the nicest course I play. As a senior that requires a medical flag on my cart the front tees offer a less difficult challenge. As you move back on the tees it can become very difficult as there is water almost everywhere.
Food and clubhouse are at best average but I do not golf any course for the food and bar.
Staff has always treated me with respect and courtesy.
Nondesert Golf
I moved to Carlsbad NM 5.5 years ago we have 2 local courses a muni and a country club both of these courses are desert tracks with Bermuda grass fairways and no traps. Well to play BlackBerry Oaks one feels like your playing on the current US Open course
Blackberry on a Hot Day
There are certain spots on the course that were affected by flooding but overall the course is in pretty good shape. Pace of play was pretty good throughout my round until the past few holes. Had to wait a while for a couple foursomes that were playing like they had all day to complete a hole. The carts with GPS and Bluetooth are great and as always, the staff are very friendly.
Under Construction
I've played this course many times before and have always enjoyed playing here. The layout is great, the staff is friendly and it's relatively close to home. With the large amount of rain we've received these last several weeks, the course has dried well, but there's quite a bit of maintenance going on around the course. For the most part, this doesn't encroach upon the normal area of play. The tenth hole is shortened considerably to a sub-hundred yard par three and you have to drive through the parking area to get to the tee box. Other than that, everything is fine and normal. I can't wait to see the finished result.
Not bad
Nice course and conditions were very good. Only negative is the tee boxes were s little beat up for being so early.
Solid Course
Enjoyed the round. Challenging and in good shape. Crowded today but still enjoyed it
Good test of your game
For spring golf it was great, greens a little bumpy, not too wet fairway, with 5 inches of snow they day before.
