Phillips Park Golf Course

The front 9 was a bit chewed up but for the most part it was maintained fairly well.

Always a great experience, staff always professional and helpful.

Another great experience, I really enjoy playing this course.

Course in overall good condition greens were quite slow possibly due to the extremely hot weather but otherwise good experience.

Beautiful weather day and playing conditions. Always friendly staff and very good pace of play. And I birdies the #1 handicap 9th hole. A first for me.

I've been playing Phillips Park for over twenty years. Its been a sad steady decline in recent years. There has been a large turnover in staffing and attention to details has suffered. Poorly maintained greens and a steady dose of U S Open rough has made each round a search for balls and rounds lasting well past the norm. This course used to be a great value

We enjoyed our round, but both agreed there’d be no return trip. Roughly was US Oprn, greens were pock-marked with ball marks and bare spots. Waited on most of our shots. Just okay. Starter was quick to point out the forward tees to my wife (who shot 78 a set back).

I usually enjoy playing this course but between the extremely slow groups in front of me of us and all the dead grass clumps in the extremely high roughs, the round was terrible and ended up taking 5 hours! I understand the area has had a lot rain but the cutting crews should have spent a lot more time making the course playable. The greens were also very slow.

I was very impressed everything was better then expected, challenging course but not overwhelming. I will play this course again.

The course was in perfect shape, which is amazing due to the amount of rain we had in the area. Kudos goes to the groundskeepers.

The heat index exceeded 100 degrees. Kind of stupid to be out here but the staff at Phillips was phenomenal. They made sure to deliver cold water and checked in on us frequently. While it was blazing out there, we were relatively comfortable and enjoyed our round. Thanks Phillips staff!

Phillips Park always had a great reputation. We lost our course superintendent three years ago and the steady decline started. During that time the greens were in decline. Although there are some signs of improvement, the extra effort is only put in when a big outing or tournament is coming up. It seems like there’s no consideration for the regular players. The rough is so long that it increases the pace of play by up to 30 minutes. When questioned about the poor conditions, the reply from management was, “ well, this is a public facility”.

Fun course with some target golf and some let it fly holes. Always enjoy playing here.
