Phillips park golf course
I was very impressed everything was better then expected, challenging course but not overwhelming. I will play this course again.
Great Shape
The course was in perfect shape, which is amazing due to the amount of rain we had in the area. Kudos goes to the groundskeepers.
Hot Day, Friendly Staff, Bad golf
The heat index exceeded 100 degrees. Kind of stupid to be out here but the staff at Phillips was phenomenal. They made sure to deliver cold water and checked in on us frequently. While it was blazing out there, we were relatively comfortable and enjoyed our round. Thanks Phillips staff!
A work in progress??
Phillips Park always had a great reputation. We lost our course superintendent three years ago and the steady decline started. During that time the greens were in decline. Although there are some signs of improvement, the extra effort is only put in when a big outing or tournament is coming up. It seems like there’s no consideration for the regular players. The rough is so long that it increases the pace of play by up to 30 minutes. When questioned about the poor conditions, the reply from management was, “ well, this is a public facility”.
A course for all skill levels
A good course with some challenging holes. Friendly staff . Driving range in good condition, Practice green needs some repair.
Fantastic round
The starters here take their job seriously. The pace was perfect and a ranger even checked up on us on the back nine. He wanted to make sure all was good. This is a course designed for an intermediate player and a great course for a beginner too. Those that are advanced I would suggest playing off the back tees which could be more challenging for that skill set. Excellent conditions with some tricky putting. Tip play the front nine 5’s to the right side. Last, my foursome had a player knock in a hole in one on the 10th hole. Awesome! That made for a great day. Highly recommend playing here. I will be back soon.
Philips park
Got lucky on memorial day with a 10am tee time for under $50. Pace of play was right at 4 hrs for 4some to get through 18. Driving range was in good shape, food at the turn was great, and course conditions were solid. Have definitely played here before and couldnt say the same. Was pleasantly surprised and had a great time.
Phillips Park 5/14/2026
I’ve played the course numerous times every year. I am always impressed by the condition of the course. Love their carts. Not only seeing the hole layout but you can listen to music as well. Prompts coming in to order ahead. A very fair course for all types of players.
Great value
Not a flat course which is great for the Midwest. Had a lovely round and great friendly people
It's a nice course
I really enjoy playing this course. The condition was great!
Nice track for the first round of the season
Weather finally cooperated and got out for the first time this spring. Windy and cool , but not too bad. Course was in decent shape with lots of blooming tulips and bright green grass. Most of the traps were either flooded for rock solid due to the recent heavy rain, so we moved balls back to the grass instead. Got a pretty good Hot Deal with a $50 Rory deal after his Masters win. Had a nice hot dog at the turn and a couple of beers afterwards. All in all a fun day although my game needs improvement.
Good value and forgiving layout
Love Phillips Park. Great value with challenging but forgiving layout for players of all skill levels. Pace of play was good with rangers active on course. Four hour round on a Saturday afternoon.
