A Must Play
Heritage Bluffs is one of the best 18 hole courses in the Southland and is a must play. It is tough but a fair course with a great layout. The fairways have great movement from tee to green and the greens are fast but can be even faster in drier conditions. Truly a gem of a course.
Sweet track
A joy to play wide open fairways and elevation changes. Course is a great design with plenty of risk reward holes. Condition of course is excellent and they are building a new clubhouse so the amenities were limited
Hidden gem
Although it rained pretty hard last night, the course was in great shape. Greens were rolling good, but the traps had some large stones mixed in with the sand. Pace of play was good. Will definitely play there again soon.
Spending money in all the wrong places
They are going through an overhaul with their clubhouse trying to make it more hip and fun to hang out at at night and not spending money on the course. The sand traps had rocks in them bigger than the golf balls themselves as well as poor weed control. Not only are the bunkers awful but the range was abysmal, looked like it was mostly dead and no one was bothering to work on it. I know it’s very dry here in the Midwest due to a lack of rain and it can get expensive to water but if you’re not going to take care of the course than you need to charge less money. We are DEFINITELY not getting what we are paying for. This golf course has deteriorated significantly in the last two years. Do not play this golf course until they decide to put money where it needs to be spent… ON THE COURSE!!!!
Primo shot values. Great property
No clubhouse this year, but still a great public track for the money
Loving It!
The Bluff has the cushiest cart seat for a starter. The check in process is flawless. There is a starter to guide you for new visitors. The tee tiff time is observed and the pace of play on a Saturday is acceptable.. Practice area is available. The course is very well maintained. Challenging and differing layout which my friends enjoyed a lot with clear directional signs. There is nice food stand by the10th hole and a cart lady. So despite the hardship on getting staff to operate a course, the team at Bluff gets an A for superb management! This golf course is a hidden gem and worth the money and trip!!
Do yourself a favor and play this course!
Never disappoints! Was in great shape. Played early and finished in under four hours. Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Kudos to you all!
Heritage Bluffs
Course in great shape. New carts paths really nice. Staff always friendly and makes round enjoyable.
Another Good Day @ the Bluffs
Always a challenge and always fun.Heritage Bluffs is. Gem! It compares to courses that hit your wallet dor a lot more for a similar experiences. Already thinking about going back!
Golf at it's finest
I would say your course is one of the nicest and overall, I would rate it as one of finest courses to play. It is very apparent that there have been a lot of improvements made.. I'd recommend your course to all my friends.
Awesome!!
Was amazed of how good of shape the Bluffs is in this season. And I've played the course almost every year since built. Conditions this morning impeccable except traps that were very wet from a big rain yesterday but were still very playable. Tees/Fairways/Rough all in great shape and cut correctly smooth running green pads with a nice speed to them. A huge comeback from conditions I experienced last year. Channahon Park District is renovating and adding on to- the existing clubhouse so the pro-shop is in a shack and they do have a well stocked halfway house trailer near the 10th tee. On course nurse service. Very good grass driving range for warm up. Water jugs all over the course filled with cold water. The cart paths have all been repaved and are smooth as silk with electric carts. Only draw back porta potties if nature calls. Teed off just before 8am and got around in well under 4 hours.
Heritage Bluffs is very deserving and should go back on Golf Now's top 15 to 25 courses you can play in Illinois. Fun/varied and challenging in places. One of the better Nugent designs. Great value for seniors during the week. 4.3 stars over all and gave it a 5 star because overall one of the best conditioned tracks I've played this season. Play it you won't be disappointed even if you have a 5 hour round. The Bluffs is that good.
Great conditions, chilly service
This is a gem of a course in the middle of nowhere. Greens rolled slow but true and smooth. The fairways are excellent and the layout is very enjoyable. There is no clubhouse as it is being renovated. The bloody mary was delicious. The price like many these days is high because golf is on the rise and courses are getting it. Unfortunately, service is not high on this course and other's priority list. It seems that the success that courses are having have made for fantastic conditions but a hint of chilliness.. Word of advice....a smile and "Welcome" go a long way. People remember how you made them feel.
