Been playing here 45 years... best shape I've ever seen
This has always been a mid tier course and enjoyable to play when it was in good shape. Which has been often rare in August for the past 45 years Ive been playing here.
I heard new owners took over recently. The greens were a little slow (9 on the stimp) but rolled incredibly true. Thick, full grass. Great greens.
Fairways are real good considering the lack of rain. So they are watering, In years past sometimes the fairways would brown out by August because of H2O conservation. Almost always a good lie.
Rough was full and thick , but cut to a reasonable height .Meaning we didn't lose any balls like we did at a couple nearby courses
Tee's were pretty good. No complaints.
Driving range was surprisingly nice.
Concessions are great. You can get a &2 hot dog, &2 can of Goose 312. $3 Lite. $5 draft of an Evil Horse draft beer.
Friendly staff.
Had a bev cart out.
Some unique holes.
Stay in the fairway and you can score.
Fairways and greens.
Definitely recommend TUCKAWAY at this time.

Tee times scheduled to close. Had to wait for several holes. The course was challenging and the crown greens hitting them in regulation was tough. Very friendly staff and the course was fun to play. Will be back soon.

This is a gorgeous course! They seemed to have found the only rolling hills in Illinois and built a golf course on it.

Greatly improved course
The course is in good shape. Vastly improved from years ago. Greens and traps are in good shape. Fairways are now distinguishable from the rough. Kudos to the grounds crew taking care of the course.

Nice Course and Challenging to Play
Tuckaway looks like a relatively easy course until you realize the greens are very firm and sloped to approach shots quite strategic. You’ll find this out on the very first hole. There are plenty of birdie opportunities at Tuckaway provided you hit and hold greens in regulation. Not much water to worry about but the rough was quite thick today. Fairways and greens were nicely mowed although the greens rolled pretty slow (made a 9 stempmeter). It’s a fun course to play, friendly helpful staff and offers an average to above average golfer many good opportunity to score par or better. Give Tuckaway a try .,, you’ll enjoy it.

Great Round on a Saturday Morning
Course is in pretty good condition compared to other area courses. The course maintenance was excellent. Great pace of play for a Saturday morning. Great food and beverage options.
