Tuckaway Golf Course

Well kept green are in good shape not a lot of water very well groomed fairways in joyed my game.

I was pleasantly surprised how hilly it was for the Midwest. Very enjoyable.

Excellent course with several very difficult holes (4 and 17).

Course is fine for the money. The course is challenging it is not too crowded so you are able to finish around in a reasonable time.

Pace of play was too slow for me. But did get on earlier than scheduled. Price was great, about half of what we normally pay. Keep watching for great rates. Many courses to choose from.

We booked a tee time through GolfNow for 7:06 AM. When we arrived at approximately 6:55 AM there were at least six foursomes ahead of us. We went in to pay and were told by the cashier that they were teeing off by tee time. When asked if there was a starter at the first tee we were told "No". Somehow the course had book a group of 25 golfers for a tee time of 7:00 AM. Needless to say it was a free-for-all the first tee. We have played the course before with now problems. This time was a very bad experience.

We haven't played Tuckaway in about 8 years. The course was in very good shape. It's a fair course and not tricky. The speed of play was steady. I would definitely recommend this course.

this course sells hundreds of groupons and there is no starter or rangers. Unplayable on a weekend unless you dont mind 5 hours rounds. Course is fine. Just concentrated on filling it with as many players as possible

a great course - off 394 - and set on a great piece of land that is convenient enough for South Siders and yet not surrounded by houses, roads, construction, etc.

With all of the rain that we've had this year, this course is still in excellent shape. The greens rolled pure and the crowns and slight undulations made for some challenging 2 putts...or, 3s, if you weren't careful. The greens may have been a little slow, but that was to be expected with the moisture we've had lately. I can't wait to get back out when the fairways provide a little extra roll and the sand traps dry out into "sand".

The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating and the greens fees were perfectly priced for the quality of the course.

I would highly recommend this course.

This course is the perfect example as to why Golf Advisor and GolfNow need an advanced rating system. This course is a short municipal park-like course-- and its fine for what it is. Compared to Championship or Resort courses, it's deserves zero stars. Four a small muni or park-type, four stars. It's only maybe 6000 or so yards from the "tips." All par-5s play under 500 and are all reachable even just for an average hitter. There's little in the way of design, the bunkers are virtually flat rock piles, the grass is too long on tee boxes and fairways, greens are slowest I've played in years and there's virtually no rough. Still, for the $10 I paid, it was great. It just needs to be compared to other small municipal courses to understand the 3 stars I gave it.

Grass on fairways and tee boxes were a bit long but it was Monday after some rain over the weekend which should be expected. The free hot dog at the turn was a nice bonus! Green fees were more than fair $23 a piece to ride, we will be back!

Course was in decent shape, pace was really bad! Start the back nine took 2 hrs to finish 3 hole and a tee up on 14th?! Glubhouse manager was nice enough to give us a rain check! Unfortunately people come there that shouldn't, they need to learn at an executive course, particularly 3, then come an play here! Unfortunately the course I'm sure can't afford to turn people away that shouldn't play there,! Don't think we will go back even with the rain check? ! For sure not on a weekend!

Very comfortable course out in the quiet countryside. Only 15 minutes from Indiana - Illinois state line.

The staff at Tuckaway and the folks at GolfNow were extremely helpful in getting our tee time reservation date corrected after I made an online mistake in selecting the date. My sons, a friend and I had a challenging day on this interesting course dealing with strong winds and tricky greens. Generally like this course for its lies and classic midwest scenery and the sweet smell of mature pines. Course conditions were quite good for coming out of a severe winter thaw.

Cost, condition and rate of play make this course one of the best values in the South Chicagoland region. Course is not to difficult, very little water hazards, and a good mixture of long and short holes. Easy to score on the greens as they are relatively straight or little break.

Great course condition for the price. Usually pay about $25 to shoot this course, but cost me $16 to golf with Golfnow.

I golf this course several times a year. The conditon is always excellent. The pace of play can slow down, especially during outings. Course is not too long, yet long enough. Greens are faster in the fall.

it was an awesome fall day, but with that one must deal with leaves and at times they were headache, but what ya gonna do : ) Overall though the course was in really good shape, and everyone had an awesome time. I'd highly recommend this course, but we were saddened (only slightly though), that all they had were hot dogs, but with season ending that might be expected sometimes, it was still so worth it to play there and will definitely do so again.

I play Tuckaway several times a year and always am greeted by excellent playing conditions. Fast greens and cut fairways made for a snappy round.
