Great Potential Unrealized
This course could be great. Really great. Unfortunately, the upkeep is poor. During a morning round after a severe wind the night before, they did not even blow the greens to remove a layer of dirty pine needles. Greens were unplayable on 4 holes, and frustrating on the rest. Lack of water on the fairways, balls ran through regularly.
However, if you like teacup, postage stamp greens this is the place. Requires position and thinking on every approach.
the ground was rock hard everywhere greens needed attention the whole course could have been flooded for two weeks and still been rock hard
lets golf course was rock hard the greens were bang
Short, sporty layout.
The course is fun, especially when just needing to work on game.
Condition needs attention. Course very dry.
Slow Play!!!
They let two groups play with 5 golfers, who would not let the twosome in front of my twosome play through. Multiple complaints to the management and their response was " Oh they're regulars". Plus the course was hard as a rock. Definitely not worth it.
Great price on golfnow.
Course is a little dry so expect a lot of roll. Club down because it is short (6000? from whites) and tight. beware of #17; one of the toughest holes I've played all year.
Clubhouse bartender is a 10.
Cheap, still not worth it
This course is very cheap and it shows on the course. Fairways are ok, but greens are way too small. Even when you hit the greens they were so hard that you couldn't stick any of them. If you're looking for a cheap easy round go here, but if you would like a realistic challenge I would suggest going elsewhere.
Can't beat the price
Very small greens that almost all of them are elevated and crowned. Very difficult to hold the greens with approach shots.
Course requires attention, fairways are in rough shape, not up to the standards of the courses I usually play.
With that said, cant beat the price, we paid $23 golf, cart and meal(hot Dog)
Challenging
This course has some challenging holes, especially the 4th hole. The greens are rather small, but are in good shape. Good value for your money.
This course is a little more challenging then your typical community course
Tuckaway is a well maintained, beautiful course that offers different challenges. The greens are mostly smaller than other courses in the area and there are some nasty dog legs that can be troublesome. There's not a whole lot of water and most of the fairways are pretty wide open. Overall I really enjoy playing this course especially when you can get a good discount around $20 a person.
Used to be a nice course.
I don't believe this course has seen a drop of water except for the rain this year ( and that is not much ) Fairrways and greens alike were so dry you couldn't enjoy your game.
Will definitely play here again
I have played here before. However, they have maintained well since. And the staff was some of the most friendly I have every been around. Especially the cart girt and bartender! Will be back this Sunday!
Slow play, no ranger, cart girl looks off, bar service slow
Disappointing day. The course seemed over crowded with people everywhere. Balls were hit into us as well as the people behind us. After the first decline, the cart girl never looked at us again. There was no ranger, or, at least no sign of a ranger doing anything to speed play up. It appeared that management allowed the course to be overbooked, trying to ack golfers in. I won't play here on a weekend again. I left wondering how many minutes were put etween each group.
Nice
First time playing this course. As a beginner I found this course easy. More importantly I lost no balls.
Course was very nice. Difficult greens.
Greens were very challenging. Lots of angles and uneven puts. Course did not have a lot of water, only 2 holes had water hazards. Most holes were pretty straight.
nice course for hi handicappers.
1st time here. Course in pretty good shape, except bunkers a little rough. Front 9 pretty basic, not a lot of challenge, but back 9 very nice, especially #10 &17. Fairways pretty open, but if you spray it bad, trees do come into play. Back has some very nice elevation changes in it & course is quite scenic for flat Illinois!! Brought beginner girlfriend here, seeing how short it was, HOWEVER, not a huge difference between blues & reds so for her challenging. Can see this being quite challenging for women golfers. All in all for a cheapie ( $10) round, a great value. Staff is EXTREMELY friendly, & cart girl was around often. If you're a hi handicapper, a good course to play!!
Requires precision
Tough course. A number of the fairways are like pendulums swinging left and right. There are also a number of blind shots over hills. The fairways are often tree lined which poses a lot of shot difficulty if you stray from the fairway. The greens are small but mostly flat and not too fast. Fun and challenging course.
Great Value
Course is challaging. If you keep it in the faiway you can shoot for bird or par
The course was above average
The course was maintained and was enjoyable to play.
There are many blind tee shots and the greens are small. Just enough sand and water to make things interesting
