Carriage Greens Country Club

One word - embarrassing ! Course is an embarrassment to Darien community. What used to be a beautiful semi-private well designed course now is a disaster. Tree stumps everywhere, traps un-raked in months, water coolers falling apart, landscaping unattended for months, tee boxes shredded with divots, parking barriers lining gravel cart path on # 5 (really ?!), fences down everywhere, no visible yardage markers on course or carts, ….. and I can go on and on. And Club House is falling apart one day at a time. Will this course ever return to what it was or could be ??? Who knows - likely a future real estate play like Timber Trails. Don’t waste your time and money.

The course is an embarrassment to the local Darien community. The condition is simply brutal. Tree stumps everywhere, sand trips untouched in months, landscaping untouched, parking barriers lining the cart path on # 5 (really ?!), tee boxes with divots everywhere, water coolers falling apart, no yardage anywhere (carts or course), and I can go on and on and on. Greens were decent however all things considered. This course still has a great layout and was once semi-private believe it or not (?!). Will it ever return to what it was or will it eventually be sold for its real-estate value ??? Don’t waste your time and money - maybe that will send a message to the owners and Darien to either fix up or sell off (or not). Go to Cog Hill a few miles south for a much better experience - at nearly the same price !

Terrible ownership. Steals players money by offering zero refunds. Double books when they can to squeeze out a few extra bucks. 48 hour cancellation policy so if you show with 3 and booked for 4 you better expect to pay for all 4 players in order to play. I’ve personally experienced the owner Brian berate a customer for not having all players show and then he told them to f$ck off and never come back. Then said to us that he would charge them anyways…..total crook and a jag off to boot. Food sucks and service is ridiculously slow. Took 15 minutes to get a hotdog…never going back.

Course is in surprisingly good shape based on previous reviews but bring the UroClub because they evidently haven't paid the PortaPotty bill...

I heard a few too many fores on the course but the course was well kept. Staff was fine. The starter has some elite jokes (I heard he uses them on everyone everytime). Good course. Will play again

Icourse is in rough shape. It looks like you are playing golf in Shreks Swamp.

Absolute clown show of an owner. Called looking to get a refund and she was extremely aggressive and challenged everything I was bringing up. No one should ever play this course.

Crooks. I have called 3 times over two days to cancel or get a rain check (it's been raining the whole day), and each time they said they would call back they did not. This is the only golf course I have ever heard of that won't let you cancel or provide a rain check due to weather, despite their ridiculous 48 hr policy (which is crazy), or not. Do not ever play here and definitely never pre pay. Check the reviews, these guys steal your money.

The owner is not friendly at all. Treats customers terrible and used vulgar language. The greens are in terrible shape. Save your $$$$.

I paid Golf Now the same amount that the course was charging plus their service fee. Call the course first before booking with golf now

Loved this course! No one pushing us while golfing twilight on beautiful day. Course was in great shape! Greens held your shots, bunkers were actual sand and fairways had a little roll. Enjoyed my round!

The service is beyond horrendous. The gentleman behind the service desk is a complete @$$hole. We have a standing tee time (prearranged) for a early league. We provided (documented) the weeks we would not be available to ensure we were not holding tee times. This dude claims he was unaware of the previous week

and cancels tee times. Basically told us we were lying and that he could do what he wants because he is running a business. If you want to ensure players show up, just make them prepay. If they don’t give advance notice of cancellation, you charge them. Very simple rule. I will NEVER play at this course again and will never recommend this course for the simple fact that this dude has no clue about customer service. Good riddance!
