Canal Shores community gem
Canal shores is my home course. Having played there on many occasions I have enjoyed watching it become what it is now. From all the volunteers and to the limited paid staff I would encourage anyone to come tee it up and enjoy the course for all the different features it has.

Great to be out and thanks for getting the course in shape after the rain. The new reservation system bites. Let’s bring back the old one.

Spring Golf at Canal Shores
Course never disappoints. It oozes history and charm from another era. Fairways and greens in pristine condition with tee boxes showing the course is getting a lot of play. Walking helps keep it that way.

Hard work is paying off
Enjoyed a nice round at Canal Shores today, after all the rain. Pace was quick but still lots of water. Course is shaping up nicely, and greens are looking/rolling well.Just hope those who come to practice chip/putt on a green would respect and give right of way to paying patrons. Perhaps more rangers? Keep up the great work—it’s is noticed and appreciated!

Love this course, but.....
I’m a crappy golfer. So for me it’s GREAT! Love the easy casual pace,
Wonderful way to spend some time with my kid. The greens were in excellent condition imho. Rest of the course was intermittently under water, wore my goretex hiking boots which functioned perfectly for the conditions.

Canal Shores
The course was is pretty good shape after 5 plus hour rain storm. I would encourage anyone who is looking to play golf at a great course come play at canal shores

A nice relief
Great to be out in n the golf course. Great organization and time management.
Sunny, cold and windy, but it didn't matter as we were out there.
Golf course is in good shape, greens a bit hard but not a real problem.

Canal Shores is a unique layout and close to my home. A great test of shot making,
The staff was very accommodating. handling the adverse restrictions. Everyone was pleasant and I felt that they appreciated my being there.

Chilly Day
The course is really in great shape are the greens were cut pretty close, And despite all the rain we’ve been having because of it’s not as muddy as it has been in the past. Great course to walk and wonderful practice

Refreshing and Challenging Executve Course
Canal Shores is a neighborhood gem. First the ambiance. The course travels up north through Wilmette neighborhood highlighted with beautiful views of Bahai Temple and Gilson Park. The front 9 is very challenging 2 par 3 over 200 yards and some tight, short par 3's that will challenge accuracy or you will be penalized.
The back 9 takes you back through some nice parts of Evanston again utilizing the canal as a hazard on almost every hole. Some pretty easy par 4's but overall, this course will challenge your handicap. index. The conditions of the course are excellent given that there is very little staff and much of the help is provided by volunteers, Great people, fun course and definitely a good golf challenge. BTW. Amenities I listed average because everything shut down from COVID. Usually has snack house at 4 and 9th hole and drinks at the vfw.

Tight Challenging Exellent shape walkable course
Lake breezes,narrow fairways and abundant wildlife are the backdrop for some long and/or interesting par 3"s.And some tricky short Par 4's. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

Neighborhood gem
My son and I had a wonderful time golfing at Canal Shores today. Tee times were spread out so there was no feeling of having to rush or feeling crowded. Booking the tee time was easy and the woman checking us in was very friendly. The grounds looked great.
