Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Club
About
Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Club sprawls across gently rolling terrain that was used to guide the design. The resulting layout blends in almost seamlessly with the natural landscape. The golf course is routed through forests of mature oak trees and around five sparkling lakes. The back nine plays along a meandering creek. Water hazards come into play on a total of 13 holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. The golf course demands a fair amount of accuracy but it's not overly punishing if you're errant. The final hole plays from an elevated tee, requiring a carry over the creek in order to reach the green. In addition to the golf course, Oak Ridge also offers a practice facility with a driving range, two practice greens, and a practice bunker.

Very bad condition
Tee box's, greens are missing grass and have bar spots.
Sand traps are filled with rocks.
Maybe end of summer this cource may be fixed by than.
Golf carts are old school gas with No GPS.
Played a different cource down the street from this one yesterday and it was in Great condition for the Spring, so can't blame bad condition on Spring.
Great layout, not great shape
Front 9 fairways were in pretty bad shape. Lots of dead grass, chewed up surface. Tee boxes not much better. This course was a gem last time I played it. Rate should have been less given course conditions.
Oak ridge
I wish we knew there was a grade school match there at the same time. Payed for 18, but had to play the front 9 twice, so the youngins could keep the back 9 to themselves. Had we known, I would have just signed up for 9 holes and saved my money.
Bunkers were so hard and compacted, our balls bounced right out of them every time.
Bunch of geese, both live and dead on the course too. Pretty much play around them on every hole they claim.
Somewhat disappointed
A little disappointed in overall course conditions. Bunkers didn’t really seem to have much sand in them. Seemed to be more like dirt, quite a few rocks. Appears to be some diseased areas here and there on a few fairways. Tee boxes had more weeds on them then I remember in the past. Greens were in great shape and where there was no disease, fairways were thick and plush. Love playing here, love the layout and variety of holes.
Birthday Round
Purchased a Hot Deal the day of, for less than $30/each. The other half of my group was a few minutes lates due to some unforeseen circumstances, and we had no problem teeing off a few minutes late. A couple tee boxes were a little over watered, but the course was in great shape tee to green.
Bunkers need serious work
The course takes pride in having 49 bunkers all over to tighten up the course as one of their selling points, but it just means 49 F's on their report card. The bunkers are in desperate need of just maintenance like just simply raking them thoroughly once a week. They are half concrete and half mudholes, completely unplayable. The rest of the course is OK, fairways are decent, greens need some water but are OK.
Bunkers need some serious work, just rake them once in a while at least, Fairways and greens are nice, fast greens with some big breakers possible. Great choice of tees that actually change the play style of a few holes drastically. A bit of a maze, could use some signs to 1st tee, next tee, etc. The bottles on the carts were all empty for divot repair media and none at the par 3 tee boxes either, so that would be a good change to keep the course nice. Staff... just keep someone at the desk and be a little more hospitable and inviting.
No maintenance
Not cleaned up from winter. Tee boxes were terrible . Fairways weren’t mowed, not as plush as it used to be. Greens were pretty good.
Closing Time 7:00pm
I have never been sold 18 holes and a cart for a 4:50 pm tee time and to show up and be told that we have to have the carts turned in by 7:00 pm. There was no disclaimer when I made the GolfNow purchase. Not right!
Great track with some impatient locals
Played here with 2 other guys late on a Friday afternoon. The course is wonderful with the front 9 resembling a typical Illinois farmland course and the back 9 being heavily wooded with great elevation changes and scenic vistas. Course conditions were great other than the fact that the greens were rolling pretty slow. We played 18 in 3 hours and 20 minutes so it was a nice quicker round. However, we had a group of 2 guys right on us for the entire back 9. Additionally, we had a group of 4 walkers immediately in front of us so there was nothing we could do and the guys never got close enough for us to ask them if they wanted to play through. However, when we were on 18 fairway the guys behind us sped down the hill towards us and yelled a clearly disingenuous “Great job fellas” without stopping and sped up the hill towards the clubhouse without playing the final hole. A very odd and confusing ending for what was otherwise a great day at a great course.
