Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Club

About
Senica's Oak Ridge Golf Club sprawls across gently rolling terrain that was used to guide the design. The resulting layout blends in almost seamlessly with the natural landscape. The golf course is routed through forests of mature oak trees and around five sparkling lakes. The back nine plays along a meandering creek. Water hazards come into play on a total of 13 holes and there are nearly 50 bunkers strategically placed throughout. The golf course demands a fair amount of accuracy but it's not overly punishing if you're errant. The final hole plays from an elevated tee, requiring a carry over the creek in order to reach the green. In addition to the golf course, Oak Ridge also offers a practice facility with a driving range, two practice greens, and a practice bunker.

i like the par 3's and hole 14 is my favorite
the greens were in excellent shape. the fairways were also in good condition for this time of year. we played the front nine in one hour 15 minutes. when we hit the back nine the men's league were playing so we found an empty slot on hole 12 and continued to play and finished holes 10 & 11 after playing the 18th. even though we played like that was fine. Seneca oaks is a nice course to play even though it took us 1 hour drive.
Nice Place to play near Starved Rock
Course was in very nice shape except for the sand traps which need attention. A ways out from the Chicago area I thought I'd give the course a try for $17 on Golfnow. $1.50 cans of beer Monday/Wednesdays. Lots of doglegs and a pretty basic old school course, some very large greens on the front nine and not overly "interesting" until a few holes after the turn and then the 18th which is the one "silly hole" which many courses seem to have. All in all a very nice experience except I wouldn't travel out there again unless you were staying at Starved Rock Lodge or had a reason to be out in that area.
Nice track
We enjoyed the course it has an interesting layout.
great experience
Tried this course for super cheap using Golf Now. I was blown away by the super friendly people here, from the shop guy to the cart girl to the wait staff in the restaurant. The course was fun, and the greens pristine. Some neat elevation changes, especially the last hole. Tottaly uncrowded, we played at our own pace. Dinner after was delicious and EXTREMELY reasonable ! I use GolfNow to try new places and find new courses to play. Although quite a drive for me, we will definetly be back ! We found a hidden gem !
Good Layout, Great Condition
I agree with previous reviewer. These were some of the best greens I have ever seen. Pretty fast and rolled perfectly true. Fairways and rough were also perfect. Maintenance staff was everywhere first thing in morning, but usually before I was even ready to hit they had moved out of the way and were waving me on.
Best greens I've played on for years!
Front nine is relatively open but challenging just the same. The back nine is where the fun begins with awesome views and an even better golf experience. just plain fun. travelled 80 miles one way and I'm glad I did!
A great course
A really nice course with lots of sand traps and plenty of water. The greens and fairways were in great shape. There were some beautiful elevation changes on the back nine.
The course had some very nice scenic fairways.
Pretty course. It wasn't too difficult. Nice setting surrounded by large farms and nice wooded areas with beautiful homes.
Great value and challenging greens.
The course was in surprisingly good condition. It been quite a few years since I last played here but the place really surprised me. The greens, tees, and fairways were all in excellent condition. The greens are very undulating in spots and it is very difficult to putt from above the hole. I'm not sure I had one straight putt the entire day!
