Great course.
For the price I would say this is the nicest 9 hole course around.
River Bend Golf Course
Always enjoy playing this course. Challenging, but more fun than not.
Expensive Course, Unimpressive Experience
The "hot deal" for this course was $25 for 9 holes, which is a little higher than other last minute tee time deals, especially for 9. The course was not well groomed at all and the rough was slightly out of control. Pace of the round was extremely slow, but that was due to a slow foursome ahead of us. Overall, not the best course, but it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't play it again if a deal was there.
Really nice 9 holes
Played this course back to back because of a hot deal needing to buy two rounds. The course can play very difficult if you are not good with your driver. Fairways are pretty tight and the sand trap placement sits right about 265 from the back tees and 240 from the white tees. There are several holes when you want to leave the driver in the bag and use an iron or hybrid off the tee. The course gives you a lot of good scoring opportunities if you find the fairway will really punish a dubbed shot. Overall, a really beautiful course that will present a real challenge to even a skilled player.
Challenging for 9 hole course
If you don't have the time to play 18 holes this course is probably the best challenge you can get for a 9 hole Park District Golf Course.
Good nine hole place to play a quick round
I played here a few times this year so I can squeeze in a quick 9 before work.
Surprisingly challenging since the holes are pretty tight. It's also a long course.
Very friendly staff which is not so easy to come by theses days..
They take care of the course very well
Good value.
Great course when you want 9 holes. Went early and finished in less then 90 minutes.
Excellent
What a great 9 hole course. Although pace of play was a little slow, you won't find a better 9 hole course for the price. The greens and fairways were in excellent condition and the course was indeed challenging. Check out the golf bikes, they are a blast.
Nice course for the money
Course is in good condition and very challenging for a 9 hole course. Good course for couples golf.
Golf with the wife
Course was in great condition. Some protected nature areas don't allow for looking/retrieving ball when it goes in, but otherwise a very nice course.
9m hole delight!
Nice local course that was a treat to play with the Golf Now discount!
Nice Course
Nice:clean, maintained, good service, not too expensive
Good Value
Great pace of play. Decent course to play 9 holes with two challenging Par 5 holes and finish with a Par 3.
Watch out
Fairways are side by side and balls end up on the other fairway slowing play and could be dangerous. Heard fore at least once. Need to keep your head up.
Retired Super's opinion
I rated this course for what it is a 9 hole city course. It isn't Augusta National (which I've been there ) . This is a very well maintained challenging course with a nice layout. The clubhouse is newer, clean, well maintained building. Lunch was VERY good more of a restaurant than a golf clubhouse. Staff was friendly and professional. This is as good as it gets for a 9 hole city course !!!
Pace of play
my only questions are.....
Who trains the starter? Why would a starter send out 4, 2-domes in a row instead of pairing groups up. Don't they know that creates a jam on the course which slows pace of play up immensely.
Why have a ranger if they sit under a tree texting on their phone when it takes 2:55 to play 9-holes.
Ridiculous slow. Not worth playing on the weekends unless you have 3+hours to play 9 holes
Sharp 9 hole course
I enjoyed my round of golf here even though I had to use a pull cart because the golf carts were not being used this day do to the recent rain the course received. A Visually pleasing course with some nicly placed hazards to keep you on your toes.
Great 9 hole experience
I'm playing it again on Friday May 2nd.,.cant believe I've never played it before....!
Fun
First time playing this course. I enjoyed myself. Only wanted to play nine and this fit the bill. Clubhouse intended Gary was excellent.
