Good local 9 hole, average
I have played this course several times. It's a good 9 hole track, couple of holes are a little challenging.
Con: greens were aerated and had a lot of sand, but it's start of the season.
For a 9 hole course it is very good.
It has interesting features on nearly every hole which gives it a good character. Somewhat challenging, but interesting.
A pleasant surprise
Drove by the other day coming home from 7 Bridges and stopped to look at the course which looked nice. Looked online for a deal and was surprised at how much they normally charge for this 9 hole gem. Too much! But found a deal for less than half and gave it a try. Pleasantly surprised at what a nice, well-maintained little course. I will return if i find a good 9-hole price online.
great deal, very well maintained, challenging, best 9hole course around Chicago
great deal, course in an excellent condition, greens are firm and fast, great layout. My favorite 9 hole course around Chicago. If you play it twice it will be complete 18 hole experience. Good tee boxes, good yardage markers on fairways and awesome sand bunkers - pleasure to play. After the round, enjoy a beer on the porch overlooking 9th green.
Nice 9 hole course
9 hole course very nice and senic. Ended up taking longer than expected due to slow groups ahead of us.
challenging layout
first time participant. really challenged me to using clubs and staying with it. the gentlemen I played with made it more enjoyable.
Too many people
The spacing of the tee times need to be spread out by at least 10 more minutes. The pile up at every hole was embarrassing and our 9 holes took just under 3 hours. Back up at tee one and it continued all course. I used to like this course but they clearly need to make some improvements to the pace of play.
Great Prices for a Great Course
This 9-hole course is well maintained and the GolfNow.com price was perfect!
Nice course
The time limit was based on the fact that the day I attended was
Labor Day. We knew going in, it was going to be crowded. 9 holes took over 3 hours. Half the course seemed to walk and the other rode, but it didn't make a difference; it was crowded regardless. Greens were a little beat up due to heavy traffic and rain the day before, but was in good playable shape overall.
terrible staff
My girlfriend and I have gone here twice. The first time we waited 30 minutes after our tee time to tee off. It took us 3 and half hours to play the nine. The second time we arrived 5 minutes before our tee time because of our experience the last visit and waited in line for 15 minutes and missed our tee time. We were told that we wouldn't get a refund because we were late. After arguing for ten minutes we managed to get rain checks which we sold in the parking lot to another couple. Don't waste your time here.
1/2 of a premier course
When you only have time for 9 holes, this is a great option. It feels like the front or back 9 of a premier quality golf course. Greens are unusually fast for a public course and run true. The layout is challenging for better players, yet not too penal for average players.
But the real draw is the federally protected wetland. Something awe inspiring about letting nature do its own thing, unaided by man. It is a beautiful golf course. My only complaint is ending the round on a par 3.
Wonderful Staff!!
Played this course with some out of town family members early one Saturday morning , We had a ball. The Course was very challenging and in excellent condition. I would certainly recommend it and myself look forward to playing it again.
Great courses but difficult
It was a great golf course well maintained, but most of the holes were pretty challenging. Lost a lot of balls. I don't recommend to the beginners. The green and fairways were well maintained but the water hazards were dirty and smelled bad.
3 hours and 20 mins to play 9 holes. Zero course management.
on a hot, humid day, it took 3 hours and 20 minutes to play 9 holes. No rangers or other course management to move play along.
Afternoon Hot Deal
Great day for a little 9 hole action @ River Bend. Too many novices out there though, so it was very, very slow. This is not a novice course. Novices need to play Zigfield Troy, Mid Iron, Green Meadows, and Boughton Ridge in the local area. Wetland restoration on holes 7 & 8 looks to have gone well. Couldn't pass on the Hot Deal for this course.
Tight course, requires precise shots
Many shots just off the fairway were lost in deep rough or streams. Too many holes closely aligned to another hole which resulted in risk of getting hit. Beautiful scenery, best played when not busy.
Great course for walkers and beginners, but fun and challenging for the advanced players.
Great course for walkers and beginners, but fun and challenging for the experienced golfer.
Great break from work (lunch) or for anytime 9 holes
Good sand, a tad short but play from the tips makes up. Nice greens and fairways. A solid value for 9 holes if that is your option
Great condition, design and pace of play.
For a nine hole course, excellent experience & well worth the ride.
