Nice 9 hole course
River Bend is a nice 9 hole course, with some challenging holes. The starter and beverage cart lady were very nice. We had a bit of a challenge with pace of play (a group 3 in front of us was quite slow) but typical of a weekend public course. I do wish players would learn to fix ball marks on greens! The restaurant and bar are good for before or after your round.
Very slow play.
This course could be fun, but course play was very slow. A lot of golfers who were hitting the ball into other fairways, looking too long for lost balls, putting in three inch putts instead of moving on, parking carts in front of the greens instead of around to side or back. It was like a bunch of folks who never golfed before.
No signage on where to get carts...where to put clubs etc.

Best way to play RiverBend
I really like this course with one HUGE exception: the pace of play is almost ALWAYS too slow (like 2:30-3hr rounds for 9) most of the time. It seems to be a combination of a first hole that doesn't allow the next group to tee off until the group ahead is nearly/on the green and also they squeeze in tee times every 8 minutes which is nearly impossible to keep on pace.
I played as a sinlge the morning after a nasty storm and early - like the 2nd tee time of the day so the course was wide open for me - i only caught up with the people who teed off 25min earlier on hole 8.
WIthout the annoyingly long delay between shots as I usually encounter here, this was a dream round on a fun course. But it's so bad in normal play i rarely come here.
Bargain
Great little 9 holer for the money. It’s fair and you’ll use every club. The conditions are fine, pretty course for what you pay. The roosters along the left side of # 8 are a literal hoot. The staff is awesome, biggest reason I made this my home course
Worst
If I could give zero stars, I would. Place of play was terrible. We did not even finish 7 holes and we were at over 3 hours. Don’t come here.
