great day
nice weather but windy a lot of people enjoy a 77 degree day
Horribly slow
Course is decently maintained, however pace of play is an absolute nightmare. Took 3 hours to play front 9. No rangers regulating pace.
cold and windy
play on tuesdays for26 so it is really busy try anotherday
It is what it is
We play this course as part of our GolfVisions players passbook each year. The greens are generally in decent shape...very quick and some have a lot of slope/breaks to them. They will challenge you. Tee boxes are always a mess. Fairways....really sparse...hard to take a divot with rock hard ground. Yesterday was bring your novice golfer to the course day or your girlfriend or wife for the the only time this season. Multiple warm up swings for each shot and then some really wild, hard and fast swings to strike the orb. 5 somes and really slow play were also encouraged as well as it being "Don't take care of the course day." Village Green is your place for all of this. I was on the 5th tee box and counted 22 golf carts.....with balls striking dead trees and flying in every direction none of which remotely going towards the hole that was being played. Fore being yelled at least once every five minutes and one lady after one of her playing partners hit actually yelled FIVE. The foursome in front of us got lost for 5 minutes and couldn't find the next tee box even though it was plainly in sight just to right of the green they played. A two-some behind the five-some actually played slower than the 5 some by the end of the round. We still finished in 420 but it felt like 520. The course is all right but does have some stupidly tight holes/tree issues/two forced carries for novices and you have to keep your wits about you because the course is packed in so tight. You need to bring a sense of humor to this place if you golf a bit. If the tee sheet is light I recommend it but it's no more than a $25-$30 course. Any more than that you're not going to enjoy yourself....and if the course is crowded.....just start drinking early and often.
A Welcoming Change of Pace
I was excited to join some friends to play after a thumbs-down feedback from one person and three thumbs-Up from three others. I went online for other reviews and discovered more people recommended Village Green than not. I opted to play the course and was a welcoming change to other courses played. Village Green provided a nice change of pace (hardly had to wait ) and course management - even amount of driver and iron shots off the tee-box. Great course to use all clubs in your bag and score better than average. Good luck and Hit Them Straight!!
Fore!
Honestly, would never play here again. Tee’d off early so pace of play was good, but legit almost was hit by errant shots on holes 8-16, heard fore in my backswing 6 times, and once on the green while putting. Greens, tee’s, and fairways were in bad shape legit soaked greens for the first half of the round and it hasn’t rained in days/weeks. Would never come back period. Price was high, and not worth it!
Sunday afternoon
Expect what you paid for. I read many of the reviews how folks down grade the course. It’s a decent course for what you pay. $32 for 18 with a cart is a bargain. If you want to get out for 18 and are on a budget , and don’t want to spend 50-60-70 bucks, then you’re at the right course. Granted it’s late in the season, tee boxes a bit used. Fairways decent. Greens in fairly good shape. Unfortunately, too many don’t know how to repair their ball marks on the greens. Come on people, it really ain’t that hard to do. Had a number of hacks out there who couldn’t stay in their own fairway, or even their side of the rough, and decided to play on the adjacent fairway. But hey, With the price, you have to deal with these beginners and hacks. Did not see a Marshall one time one the course. If we did, that might help these folks. I’d play here again, just don’t complain in the reviews, when you pay low 30’s and expect a Private C C course, if the weather holds this fall, I’ll be back soon.
Poor conditions
Thought this could be a sweet little find - — unfortunately not. We have t played on worse tee boxes, fairways or greens. So bad.
Tells people not to complain about the course, proceeds to complain about the course.
