Super windy day to defend the course.
Everything from Driver - Wedge on 400 yd holes to 5 wood on 165 yds!
Parking ticket! Adios Countryside.
After an ok round of golf, it was quite a disappointment when I returned to my car in the completely full parking lot. I received a parking ticket for parking on the furthest turn of the driveway near 1st tee Prairie out of the way of any traffic. The Lake County Forest Preserve Police were called to ticket cars. How ridiculous! Not in a fire lane or hindering any traffic, not in a handicapped space, not in a loading zone.
I went to the pro shop to ask why a private parking lot was subject to tickets. The guy at the counter pointed to (ironic timing) the Lake County Forest Preserve officer coming into the pro shop. So I politely approached him to ask why. He said there's no parking outside of any marked spot. Even when the entire lot is full, no ifs ands or buts. $50 pay or contest in Kangaroo Kourt. And this "officer" claimed the golf course called them to ticket cars. I looked at the guy behind the desk who shook his head NO.
There are too many great places to play within easy driving distance where you can easily park and not get a ridiculous ticket. I hope you spend my $50 wisely. And I hope this time you post my review so others are aware of your player friendly methods. BTW, I followed the posted GolfNow review guidelines in order to have this review appear. It totally has everything to do with the course and the playing experience. Adios Countryside.
Soggy Day
3 days of rain prior to our round found the fairways very soggy on the Prairie course. Lots of puddles and roped off areas. Greens in really good shape after a few days of rain and few payers. Staff is always nice.
Great Scoring Track
Sweet links style layout providing great opportunities to score. Course is well maintained with good fairways, rough that can be penal and good greens. Staff is always friendly. Pace of play is very good, 18 in 4 flat.
Cart Fee
Beware of extra cart fees. It was my understanding that when I booked with TeeOff the cart was included because of the cart icon when booking. Upon showing up to the course the morning of, we had to pay extra for the carts. Carts weren't terribly expensive, just not an anticipated fee.
Coming back again
I had not played this course in several years and simply forgot how good it is. I will definitely be back there again before too long!

Book a tee time $47 we didn’t know it was walking only add an extra $25 , not worth over $45 with cart to play , play steeplechase next door for the same price
Great bang for the buck
One of my favorite courses... enjoy it as much as the more expensive ones nearby. Course was in excellent condition after a day and night of heavy rains.
