About
Foss Park Golf Course has a convenient location in North Chicago that is an easy drive in from the city. It's a public course that is known amongst locals for being one of the area's best golf values. The layout is wide-open save for three holes that are framed by towering mature trees. The golf course strikes a good balance between being challenging and playable. The fairways are narrow and demand accuracy but the massive greens are more forgiving. Each hole offers a variety of different playing options, which makes the course appealing to a wide range of skill levels. The golf course has plenty of sand, plus water hazards come into play on several holes. There is also a driving range and large practice putting green available at Foss Park G.C.

Pace of play ruined my experience
Nice course and was maintained pretty well. Very friendly staff. They need to have someone out there making sure other golfers are playing at a good pace. Only got to enjoy 9 holes because pace was so slow. Asked to skip a couple groups even. Wish I could’ve seen the back 9 but it was 7 by the time I got to it and my tee time was 3:54.
Open layout, but sloooow play
Tees and fairway were in good shape, but some greens had lots of ball marks. Starter was able to get groups off on time, but no ranger on the course caused groups to get bunched up behind slow playing groups.

Carts r bad!
Slow start cart and very slow pace..getting worse every time I go to Foss park!

Slow play
Course is in great shape but the group in front of us was really slow that there was a big gap between them and the group in front of them.

The only shortcoming would be the carts. The gas powered carts did not run well, frequently hard to get moving.
The course conditions, pace of play and the weather were absolutely wonderful.

Good day of golf
Excellent value. Tee boxes were in good shape. Fairways were in good shape. Greens rolled true with moderate speed. Bunkers were heavy. Good pace. Nice course and excellent staff service. The carts could use a upgrade but worked well. The course plays fairly. I will definitely return.

No ranger. slow pace
I play few times this year. Course was before in great shape . Now I believe just want more money less care to the golf course. I was playing a great pace found a few groups 5 players together slowing the pace I call the clubs house twice explained what's going on at the course basically don't care . No body take care at the Issue.

Easy and great
I played here for the first time. To be honest, I did not expect a lot first since the fee is so cheap. However, we all 4 players mentioned same that it’s so great, would come again. It’s wide, easy and well maintained. Will visit again.

Shaping up nicely this year
Fairways are well manicured for this early in the year., no puddles or wet spots. Greens are large and not very fast. Course is getting better each year. Great cours for the amateur and great early year pricing. Looking good!
