Course is in Great Condition
Despite the long dry spell, tees, fairways and greens were all in good shape. There was some brown in the roughs but how wouldn’t there be in the dry hot conditions we’ve had? The greens were very smooth and true. A pleasure to play. We played Monday morning when it wasn’t crowded and played in exactly 4 hours with our foursome.
First Timer
Overall a very good experience. The course is well maintained and challenging at times, but not overwhelming. The carts are in excellent condition as well as the course.
The driving range and club house were very good as well.
Good Course
Pace of play on front was very slow for a Monday morning then it picked up on back 9. Course conditions are solid, greens in good condition. Several holes have extreme dog legs so you can say that's gimmicky or challenging depending on your preference. They had ball cleaners and water jugs on several holes which was nice even though I didn't use them. The holes also did not have the spongy insert so nice to play a course with all the coivd restrictions. Play at your own risk and that's what I like.
OB Golf COurse
Have been playing here for a number of years and more and more the last couple because a friend loves it here and now I do too. The more I play it, the more I love this course. It is perfectly manicured, the rough is lush, the greens could be faster, but they are cut well, in good condition, and rolled. You never can play this course the same and I am not tiring of playing here. Also has the best sand in the area. Really just a gorgeous course, well maintained, great golf, lots of fun. Very underrated. Thanks, Dr. Ivan
Enjoyed the course
OBGC was in pretty good shape except that the greens had been recently aerated/sanded so putting was a bit challenging. Course played slow at times but played in just over 4 hours. The practice facility is great and would have liked to stay around for a drink as the outdoor seating area is awesome. Need to come back with a buddy for the 19th hole.
Course was in excellent condition.
The staff was super. The pro shop, beverage cart, counter, and patio staff were courteous, helpful and readily there to provide assistance.
Great course
Haven’t played here in. 30 years, but just as I remember it. Only complaint is very slow play. - 5 hours for 18. Didn’t see a ranger on the back nine where things really bogged down.
Always An Enjoyable Experience
Oak Brook has always been at least a cut above your average muni, and it still is, although I found that the course conditions weren't quite up to those of previous seasons. The course layout provides great variety and the greens are particularly challenging. Playing here is always an enjoyable experience and now the clubhouse and patio have been remodeled for an even better 19th hole. And finally, the food is still great.
Good local course
Nice course, pace of play was a little slow at times on the back but only because two more people joined the twosome ahead of us at the turn. The course was in good shape - no complaints. Our round was 4 hours 15 mins so all in all good pace. We didn't order food but the menu looked good. All in all a good day.
Oak Brook
Decent course with a great range and practice facility. The club house is very good with a full restaurant and bar., The staff is very professional and super friendly. The course was in decent shape for the large volume of play it receives.
Great conditions
course in great shape, greens were meduim fast. Had rakes in traps, water for golfers. Overall conditioning was very good. Pace a little slow but not terrible. Carts were nice. Fair test for mid to low handicappers.
Oak Brook Golf Club
The course is in excellent condition. After the rain, yesterday, the greens were really receptive and held the balls nicely. The rough was very easy. Must have been mowed, low, recently. They've gone to 8 minute intervals, and the course had a lot of walkers, so the pace was slow. First nine took 2 hours and 20 minutes. The back nine 10 minutes less so manageable. We enjoyed the course, and the day, very much except for the somewhat slow pace. Oak Brook has matured, wonderfully, over the years and is a good test for handicappers in the teens.
