Course layout is good and course is good condition

Palos Country Club was a longer 9-hole course than I am normally accustomed to, but it provided my golf partner and me a great challenge in terms of the layout. However, the course itself has seen better days, the greens grass was dead in many spots, the roughs were more than rough, and in some cases, it was tough to distinguish where the fairways ended, and the roughs began.

If the condition of the course was good to pristine, this would have garnered a 5 star rating instantly.

If you've never been to Palos Country Club, I would recommend trying it once just to say you challenged a longer 9-hole course in the Chicago suburbs and see what your score is at the end of the round. If the course itself was in better condition, I would recommend a repeat trip.

Putting greens needs a lot of attention and so does the tee box. I like the course layout out and difficulty. The course has a lot of potential. After speaking to the staff about this., there are plans to address these things. I hope they do because I would like playing there a lot more if the course was in a little better condition. It is a good value and the staff is very friendly, but don’t get upset if you hit a put and it rolls off line because of poor green condition. That will definitely happen to you. They do have good specials for Fridays and Mondays to combine food and drink with tee time costs.

Been many years since playing here. Course needs a little attention: fairways with lots of weeds, greens with some rough patches, some traps look abandoned. It’s not all bad but needs some work. Too bad as it’s a sporty layout. Murphy’s was a good spot for after-golf refreshments and lunch. Great rate through GolfNow.

Sometimes you just want to play a quick nine on a course with some yardage. This one fits the bill. Par three courses are great for the short game. This course lets you get some work with your driver and fairway woods.

They are not taking care of the course at all. Greens are bad, traps all need sand, even the tees are not in good shape.

... It was always a nice layout, especially for a 9 hole course. It has turned into a waste of time.

Long course

You must stay in the fairway if you want to score well

Nice facility and looks like they are putting money back into the course. Course needs maintenance but it’s a really nice track. This course has a lot of potential and will play again. Please put money into and see the potential it has.

Friendly staff and a cool layout. Worst place I’ve ever been. I’d be embarrassed if my lawn looked anything like these fairways and greens. Played 8 holes in 3 hours before leaving

Great staff, carts and course conditions could be better for the price. Challenging course which is good for practice. Plenty of holes which are open.

Course was a a good set up. Just the condition of the course was bad. The greens were atrocious. Fairways weren't much better. I've played better courses for less money.

The layout is above average but some of the greens still need a lot of attention as they have patches that are totally ripped up.

Green were terrible. They were aerated recently which is normal, but aside from that ,they were in bad shape. Most bunkers were filled in or overgrown. The ones that weren't, are unkempt. For the price, many 9 hole courses nearby are way better value.

The course is a little falling apart and a little disjointed in layout, but the value is the upside to match any of the downsides.
