Underwhelming for the price
Course was a a good set up. Just the condition of the course was bad. The greens were atrocious. Fairways weren't much better. I've played better courses for less money.
Course conditions getting better
The layout is above average but some of the greens still need a lot of attention as they have patches that are totally ripped up.
Not what it used to be
Green were terrible. They were aerated recently which is normal, but aside from that ,they were in bad shape. Most bunkers were filled in or overgrown. The ones that weren't, are unkempt. For the price, many 9 hole courses nearby are way better value.
Great Practice Spot
The course is a little falling apart and a little disjointed in layout, but the value is the upside to match any of the downsides.
Conditions are improving
The course still needs work but compared to past years it is getting better.
Greens were rock hard
Course is nice, but less water hazards would be good. Several holes have water on both sides of fairway, tough for my game to handle.
Greens were awful, very hard, super fast and not full grass on some.
Big Changes
Just played for the first time this year. Course looks great staff is great. For a nine holer theres nothing better and it’s getting better.
This place has more crab grass than I’ve ever seen before. The fairways are basically rough. There’s a Grand Canyon running through every single green.
Great changes
Big difference from last year. New management has cleaned it up. I met Dan, he was awesome. Great place and f your short on time. Always challenging.
Quick 9 Holes
Still early in the season so the course is a bit rough around the edges. Improvements can be seen taking place. For example the high reeds and bushes have been cut down along many of the water lines improving line of sight, especially on the 9th hole. That has helped tremendously, makes the hole more enjoyable instead of having blind shots. Look forward to playing here again as the weather warms up and the course continues to improve. Really enjoy how this 9 hole track is laid out.
Watch out for the water!
My friend and I decided to play nine holes at Palos Country Club on the spur of the moment. It was a perfect autumn day and we started at 12 noon.
It was my first time there and it had as much water as I had feared. Luckily, I was able to avoid any of that kind of trouble.
The course looked good except in spots where it appeared there'd been flooding earlier in the season and the fairway was bare. Greens were in good shape and fair.
The only issue, which I later brought to the attention of the course and they promised to take care of, was they hadn't had any updated slope or course rating and there was no way to enter a score for the course for handicap purposes. LIke I said, the manager couldn't have been nicer and promised to see that any needed re-rating would take place.
I will play there again.
Slowest round
They allow 5-somes to go out and the pace of play is horrible.
New team this year starting golfers obviously its early but our pace was FAST
