South at Hickory Hills Country Club

I cannot believe how horrible the whole experience at Hickory Hills Golf Course was. Where to begin, the check in counter had inefficient and unhelpful individuals there. I had to flag someone down when they were literally 5 ft away from me and ignored me. The person checking in the golfers outside before going to the course, picked up and left and we were waiting 15 mins past of tee time to play. I went back to the check-in counter and the individuals were not helpful at all, all they told me was to wait for the guy outside. We just started without direction. I will never go back here again.

Everything about the course was OK besides getting off the first tee. How are you 20 minutes behind pace of play at 745am. Starter needs to do a better job at getting the whole group together before teeing off.

Course was in terrific shape and as usual I enjoyed my round.

Play Hickory Hills on August 26 with a friend in from Texas. The course is in fantastic shape. The fairways are immaculate. There were a few years ago, a lot of weeds not anymore. The greens were some of the toughest speediest greens and fairest greens we’ve met in a long time which added to our fun. Overall was a terrific value. The pace of play was just four hours and we had a great time. I will return

Lost a club 2 Sundays ago, made a few rounds, couldn't find it, and I left my number with the guy at the pro shop. I get a call the next day from them saying they have it and describing it exactly. My buddy made plans to go shoot a round there and pick it up that next weekend, but when he went to get it, they said they didn't have it. Pretty obvious that one of the employees decided to keep it for themselves after all. Now they won't answer my calls or return my message. Also their CC machine was busted for the range, so they refused to do anything bc I didn’t have cash on me. Overpriced, decent greens.

Plenty of other courses for $80 that have a proper club house, 10 minute tee times and food an beverage facilities. Course was so so. Had to wait on several holes because you could drive the green on a par 4.

Other than it being hotter than heck today (8/16/2025), Hickory Hills was a blast! The course was in great shape. Loved the total distance from the tips and pace of play was excellent! Played in under 4 hours! Also really loved that there was a halfway house/snack shop thing accessible from many different holes.

Started 30 minutes late and play of place was not enforced. We did not finish 18 holes in 5+ hours of play. Poorly run course.

This course has elevation change(s) on every hole. Pretty unusual and (welcome) for the area. The staff was friendly, except for the starter who was new and was not very familiar with the procedure. If you have back problems, please use the rough for your cart.... or just walk if you can

This aging course needs an upgrade. Drainage is not the best. Cart paths have plenty of potholes which make for an unpleasant riding experience.

A very well-maintained golf course w/rolling fairways and challenging greens.

Greens are decent and fair way is good but every thing else is pretty rough and over grown and uneven

Generally I found the course average to slightly above average to play. Not necessarily worth driving from Chicago to play although they had a lot of openings for a last second afternoon round. Greens were in poor condition and absolutely no rangers around.

Great for all levels, staff is always extremely kind, on and off course!
