Awful
This course is awful for beginners and established golfers alike. Poorly manicured for good players, too tough (blind shots, water and high reeds in difficult places) for beginners. Will never play here again.
Nice little course
This facility is always nice. This time the fairways were a little in disrepair and the "super" apparently decided to let an old tree and pile of ag waste smolder on the front-nine - IT SMELLED REALLY BAD!
Also three-balls lost by our three-some in the "First-Cut" of rough - seriously just off of the fairway. That really needs some mowing.
The staff is always nice and the beer selection along with food is really quite good!
1st time player at course
Very welcoming staff and atmosphere. Was playing as a single and larger groups very accommodative in letting me play through. This reflects on the culture of the golf community at this course and not to be taken for granted.
Fast Greens, Bug Spray helps
The course is well maintained and holds some challenges. There is a sign that says, "Don't spray mosquito repellent over grass."
With fall leaves coming down, it was an exercise to find a few of the balls. At the turn, the staff at the lunch room was friendly and the hot dog was good.
I was hitting my drives well, but managed to end up in the sand traps on five occasions. I need to golf more!
We started at 2:26 pm. With the sun high in the sky and with the openness of the front nine, the mosquitoes were not too bad. The course is very natural and we saw frogs and critters in the ponds and creek.
The sun was getting low by the time we got to 13 and 14. With the breeze held out by trees, the mosquitoes were evident. Spray helped.
At 18, it helps to have a cart. We were walking. If we had a cart, we could have driven forward a distance and had a peek. But from the tee, you can't really make out the shape of the fairway. They do have a flag in the middle of the fairway, which was a good target. Since we were walking, we were a little tired and did not take the time to walk forward and look at the fairway before teeing off.
Not anytime soon
Staff was friendly and helpful, but for the fees paid the course was not in good shape and the sprinklers kept turning on on the fairways making it difficult to play through. Will not recommend this venue or play here again.
Fairways were in poor condition
It was obvious that this course was under water for a long time. The fairways were in very rough shape. On the 7th tee box it was difficult to tee off because of the smell off sewer! I'm guessing it was from the stangnet water. I would think that they would be giving discounted rates due to the poor conditions but they're not.
Rain has hurt the ciurse
Only the second time I've played here. About six weeks ago it was in fantastic condition. Since then rain has caused flooding which damaged the course. The greens and tee boxes were in green condition. However several places on the fairways were in very bad condition.. I'd imagine it will take a while to come back.
Good for the money
Front nine was very wet lots of standing water everywhere backbone was much better
Great local course, except for the bug bites!
A very nice "little" course. Due to layout, plays longer than it actually is. Very tough opening hole--but it gets a little easier after #1. The front nine is notably different than the back nine, but both are nice. I was shocked that we were allowed to have carts, due to the large amount of rain we have had lately. The course was very very wet. I feared we were actually hurting the grounds by playing. At $33 (including cart), I don't know where you will find a better value. We were the first twosome at 6:23am, so our pace was fast. We played in only 3 hours and 15 minutes. Nothing fancy, just a nice local track. The wet conditions were beyond anyone's control, so I can't complain about that. The only negative I should mention is related to bugs/insects. I'm not sure if the course can spray or control the biting insects that covered the entire course. I have never been on any course where bugs were such a nuisance. I noticed some Mosquitos, but the real pest looked more like a fly. Two days after my round, I am itching constantly. I count over 25 bites on my legs. I should have not worn shorts! Other than that one complaint--a great round on a fine little course.
The course is also easiest accessed from westbound route 56 or from route 47(either direction). You cannot access from route 56 eastbound.
Great place
Great place to enjoy your game with friends and friendly staff and enjoy good food and drink.
moderate course challenges your ability to keep the ball in play.
Have played this course 7 times this year, always a good value for the $, like the layout. Most holes can be pared if you get on in regulation. Although the handicap ratings on some holes, dont match the real challenge vs. The rating. Shot a 42/43 yesterday for an overall 85. Not my strongest effort this year. But would recommend to anyone who wants a value for the money.
Nice course bad flies!
The day was perfect and the course is in really nice shape. We golf there quite frequently and always find it a good experience. (The food is excellent, by the way, though we didn't eat there this time.)
We had major problems with biting flies this time. It may have helped if we hadn't worn shorts, but it was a warm day. The biting flies were really bad and applying spray didn't help. There were a lot of geese on the course, too, and there was a lot of goose droppings. The flies may have been attracted to that. In any case, you are advised to wear long pants if you play this course, and I think the proshop should advise people of the fly problem when a reservation is made. I should sya this is the first time we've had this problem at Bliss Creek.
We didn't have dinner there because we were afraid the outdoor tables would have fly problems.
The only other problem i have with this course is the opening hole. It's one of the most difficult on the course. Though I believe it ranks 6th in difficulty, it requires that your shot to the green be precise. This would be a better hole for later in the round when you have your wedges dialed in.
Needs maintenance
Course is NOT in good condition and no evidence it will be improved. Wanted to over charge me by
$ 5.00 / player until I produced my Golf Now confirmation. . No rangers, slow play. Won't be back
Bliss Creek
overall not happy with the golf course or facility at all
This course has fast greens
This is a great course. However we had a tee time at 338 and we had the high school kids out there. We had to wait for them and we didn't get to finish are round cause they took to long and didnt let us play through. The high school kids were just practicing but taking there sweet time.
Nice little course
Nice little course. Workers are very friendly, Course plays short but is challenging enough for average golfer.
This course will grow on you
You do not any help from te Staff while in te course, so slow play is a risk. I have played here 4-5 times and would go back again.
Good value for the money
It's a short course but there is some challenge with the water hazards, mature trees near tee box and course layout.
Beautiful course
Bliss Creek is a wonderful and easy course to get out on... pace of play was great, course was in good condition, challenging enough, very scenic, and great rates. Will be back soon for sure. Go play it! You won't be disappointed.
