Over priced
One would think for $69.00 it would be close to Thunderhawk, but it's not! I'd rather pay the $10.00 more and play a good course like Thunderhawk. The sand traps have large rocks in them and are so hard it's like hitting a ball off asphalt. The tee boxes haven't been seeded to fill in the needed areas at all. The cart paths are great if you want to throw your back out. If you're looking for a nice course, this isn't it.
Tight course
Well it's been 30 years since I played Midland.. lots of water. And challenge. Bad things on course. #1.TEE BOXES WRONG DISTANCE. #2SAND TRAPS HAVE ROCKS THAT COULD DAMAGE CLUBS.#3. TRAPS NOT RACKED..#4 SEVERAL HOLE LACK GRASS. #4 GREENS ARE LUMPY. #5. PEOPLE DONOT REPAIR BALL MARKS.
Not in good shape
Course not in good shape. Water puddles everywhere, fairways/tee boxes in bad condition.
Slowly Fading
I've played this course a few times a year for about a decade. Always enjoyed it since (for me) it was a challenging course due to the number of water hazards and bunkers. Unfortunately, each time I return, it seems to be in worse shape. Area has had above average rainfall this year, and the course has not handled it well. Several holes were flooded early in the year (particularly 6 and 7) and have never recovered. The 400-yd, par 4, sixth hole has played as 135-yd, par 3 all year due to fairway flood damage.
On this visit: Except for the holes previously mentioned, fairways were in fairly good shape, but full of divots. Some greens had grass damage and were full of ball marks. Gaggles of geese (and their 'gifts') all over the course.
I don't recommend playing the course this year unless you live nearby, or get a discount greens fee.
Hopefully things improve next year. Such a waste of a formerly nice course.
Flooded
Carts don’t have GPS and yardage markers and USGA markers on tees are hard to find, if they exist. If no GPS put some more markers with correct distance!
It’s fun and inexpensive, I’ll remember to bring my range finder next time
I'll be back
Haven't played Midlane in a long while, but decided to play it now. Overall, this course could use some much needed TLC, but at least the fairways and greens were in decent condition. I'll give it another try for sure.
OK
I realize weather has been impactful but other aspects have been ignored. Simple items like a cart path falling apart. Tee boxes in poor shape. Golf carts with ripped seats. Course needs a lot of TLC
Rough
Pros: Fairways are ok, nice signage, on going repairs
Cons: Cart-paths are brutal, really needs some TLC, not a $69 course more like $49
Course flooded greens were in bad shape
Putting green destroyed overall course in terrible condition. Very sad this course used to be a gem. Will not play again
Just Horrible
The was no mention of the coarse being flooded before setting a tee time. At the coarse I was told to play 1-4 and the jump to the back 9 because of flooding. The rest of the coarse was long GRAS. Never lost so many balls in play in all my life. What a disappointment.
OK
The front 9 can't handle any rain/water. Conditions were ok on the back but the front was in rough shape. The back is also a better design so it was like playing a different course. Food is good and the staff were really nice but it was pretty slow out there.
It's a fun course for a game though, and the price isn't bad.
Really going downhill
Course in poor condition. Losing trees to beavers, losing fairways to flooding. No drinking water on course on a 90 degree day, cart girl was out of water. Hopefully someone buys this place and returns it to what it used to be but I won’t be back.
Course was flooded and would never have driven an hour to play a course with this many compromised holes , large roped off areas made it very difficult to manage the course
Hate that they take your money without being upfront about course conditions…..too bad it’s a cool challenging track
