Great Place to golf
Course was in good shape. Pace was a little slow for a Sunday afternoon. Overall we had good time.
Could be a nice course
The course is in ok conditions. The pace of play was horrible. There were a group of guys that hit multiple shots from
The tee box. They played several holes then came back several holes and jumped between us and the foursome in front of us. The group was very drunk and almost started an argument about jumping between the groups. No ranger ever on site. No manager to complain to either. Poorly ran establishment.
Great Value, Slow Pace of Play
Overall this course is solid, a good value for your money spent per round. However, there was a severe delay at each hole due to slow golfers not keeping up with the pace of play. The course had a cart waitress who made a few rounds and was very friendly, but there were no course rangers and as a result, my group of two was stuck waiting at each tee box for nearly ten minutes while slow golfers two groups ahead did not keep up with the pace of play. Had there been rangers to keep track of the pace, this would not have happened. All blame falls on the solo player two groups ahead who dragged his feet and even stood in the middle of the fairway having a conversation with the greenskeeper instead of hitting his next stroke. I want to assume this is not a common occurrence at this course, but on this particular day we had to end our game after only 11 holes. I would like to return to this course soon, and I hope that I am not put in the same position.
Rude Staff and policies
I was part of a threesome. We arrived twenty minutes early. No other golfers around or grounds crew on hole one. We were told to wait until 7:00 when we had a 6:48 tee time. My son and his girlfriend were in town for his birthday and she did not have her clubs but was planning on using his. She was a fully paid participant, yet was told she had to rent a set of clubs which were junk and full of dirt, grass, etc. She never used them throughout the round and the two of them played best ball. several greens were not in good shape. Few people were on the course and I was told by another golfer that they have driven away 50% of their membership. Not a good message being sent for the Town of Highland which has many good things otherwise.
Overbooked...SLOW
The pace of play was extremely slow...overbooking and sightseeing golfers stopping to take picture caused a huge backup.. on top of an extremely hot day the greens were dry and in poor condition - we were there for Father's Day but ended up playing only nine holes because of all of the above
Simple and fun
Guaranteed good time for the amateur golfer. May not be perfect condition or the most exciting layout. Greens and fairways are slow and need cut down a bit. Sand traps are a bit silly. But you can’t beat the value for a champ size course the area. It keeps me coming back.
Too Packed
They don’t use tee times. They just let everyone who shows up play. Way too busy.
Good time, very wet
Cart path only and for good reason. Had a decent amount of rain prior to going. Regardless, the fairways and greens were in decent shape. We knew what to expect and had a good time.
Will definitely go back to this course.
Slow and Forgettable
The course was ok, all things considered. It was in adequate shape but it’s mostly a straight forward course without much uniqueness. I will point out the extremely slow pace of play and the total failure of the course marshal to get groups moving along. Which really ruined an otherwise nice day.
Not ready
The rain appears to have made it hard to have the course ready. Fairways and rough are still saturated
nice surprise
I have not played here in 15 years and was pleasantly surprised. The course was in nice condition..but we tee'd off behind 4 newbies that were pitiful. Once they let us pass them on the third tee, pace of play was better, but we still replayed 3 holes during the round to avoid sitting and waiting.
Greens were nice, fairways nice as well. For a muni, I enjoyed it.
